SGI has sequential nozzles injectors positioned at the intake manifold and almost near the combustion chamber and is controlled by LPG ECU box. Mas mahal ang SGI because of the ECU and the Nozzles/Rail. The LPG ECU is mapped at almost identical mapping of your Gasoline ECU.

SGI - No adjustment needed after the installer tuning. Mine was almost 2 years now and I have no complaints.

SGI - very sensitive to oily LPG contamination and to date only Total LPG refilling stations (Fairview and Makati) is the cleanest to my observation. You'll have rough idling when you have oily LPG contamination (spark plug related problem getting wet by oil from the LPG).

Although this thread is long... it answers 99.9999% of your questions.

I suggest reading it, or even part of it before asking more "basic" questions.

    thanks sir GH and mile,

i was able to survey this thread and follow it through out posts but cant seem to find the major difference of SGI and venturi kits. most of them were comparisons by experience. anyways, i will just google it.

there are more complaints about the venturi than the SGI, especially those who have carbed engines.

    or

there are more LPG-equipped carbed engines than LPG-EFI's

Most taxi-cabs use venturi type kits, especially those older taxi cabs. The newer cabs might have SGI kits installed but that's not true with every cab company.

Venturi kits can be adjusted by the owner/driver of the car. Hence a taxi cab driver can screw-up the settings of the lpg kit by turning the adjustment screws the wrong way.

SGI kits have an electronic box which needs a computer to re-program. So a trained technicial is needed to make any adjustments. Less chance of making wrong adjustments.

Advantage of venturi kits is it is more basic. Less parts. Less stuff to go wrong. Disadvantage of venturi kits is it is also more basic, less compensation for changes like a dirty air filter or change in air pressure due to altitude. Oily LPG is not a problem with venturi type kits though.

Recently, I have converted my Car to LPG from Econogas in Quezon City using there SGI Vogas Plus kit with dual core ECU (Motorola). My FC=8km./Li. and in my observation I have'nt notice any changes in power loss from the engine between LPG to gas or vice versa. Having torodial tank installed it cost me 50K.

i'm having a problem on my lpg equipped '05 vios a/t.
after having used it smoothly for 1.5 yrs, nagkakaroon na sya ng intermittent lack of power on 2,500 rpm or higher. specially when driving uphill. (like julia vargas in pasig.) talagang nabibitin. but when i switch to gasoline, everything becomes normal. i've brought it back thrice to greenfuel pero problem keeps on coming back. wala na doon yun dating mechanics and wala na rin si big mike. and dahil off-warranty na, they keep charging me fees. ok lang sana kung nasosolve. kaso hindi.
    can anyone help?

I have no problem now with my Greenfuel kit, but I do share the same concern over their ability now to provide after sales service. My last service there when my car was still under warranty was also disappointing.
Thus, I'm seriously considering converting to another kit brand. Mike of Vogas tells me that they might be able to retain some parts--gas tank, injectors, etc. I just haven't had the time to bring my car there for a proper assessment.

yung sa akin mag 2 2 years na this august and so far wala akong problema going uphill. ang talagang problema lang sa lpg yung idling minsan erratic. my last visit to greenfuel was nov last year, out of warranty na yun kit ko so i need to pay 500 bucks to overhaul the vaporizer after that until today no major problems.

ito lang ang problema sa greenfuel, yung after sales service nila nag slide na rin at wala na yung dating magagaling mag tune ng lpg. sana magkaroon na ng lpg shop dito sa south.

    btw, mine is venturi kit.

    Hi guys,
I'd like to extend a helping hand with your calibration problems. my RSI kit has the same ECU. Lets take a look and access the problem, see where it goes from there.
    Regards!

Still have the same issue, but after fixing my solenoids, it's only apparent when the fuel level is already very low. Exact same symptoms... choking at 2500+ rpm. Starts at an exact rpm, which is the weird thing.

Finally took a long trip with the retuned kit. Got 320 kms out of my "full tank", about 39 liters (45 liter tank). That's with about 50 kilometers at ultra-low speeds and in crushing traffic, which usually gets me down to 5 km/l... so I'm getting around 9 km/l in fast highway driving... not too bad, wish it were better.

Hi Sir Dragonmate and N5110, we had some problems with our mechanics at the start of the year but we were able to get back our old timer who was with us from the start and the our newer mechanic has just gone through the required training with Tesda. Rest assured as I mentioned earlier, we are committed to giving you the best after sales service possible. Should any of you have any concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Thanks! Nice to hear about the news Warren

I might go there for preventive check up, though my kit was still okay but it was already nearing 2 years and might as well have it checked.

    Hi Warren,
Nice to hear you have your expert tuners back. mahirap kasi makipagsapalaran sa ibang LPG tuners, theres was one time sa cleanfuel sa sucat, may problema kasi sa idling pag naka lpg, sabay kuha ng tools yung mekaniko at i aadjust na yung throttle cable.. sabi ko, teka lang maaapektuhan din yung idling ko sa gas di ba? sabi oo daw..sabi ko wag mo ng galawin.. putek.
Can i bring my car dyan sa shop for some check up at paturo na rin ng proper bleeding ng contaminants sa vaporizer? salamat

Hey! Exactly the same thing happened to me at Greenfuel the last time I was there last year! Good thing I was watching what those boys were doing under the hood.
Anyway, Warren, thanks for the re-assurance. But I do hope you could bring BigMike back. ;-)

Thank you very much Warren for the fast response and the assurance to solve my lpg problem. That was a relief to hear. I was not able to bring my car the day you texted me. I'll be coming over as soon as i get back from my week-long out-of-town trip.
    Thanks again!!

Sir, wala pa po atang nakagamit ng 8 sang rating. karamihan 1 step colder from the plug stated sa manual ng kotse. gamit ko 6bps din. so far mas consistent ang respponse nito compared sa 5bps. try niyo muna ang 1 step colder.

With the NGK LPG/CNG plugs i'm using now. After 1,000kms its still running quite well; what i noticed was the car (Altis 07) now runs lighter on LPG (slightly easier revving at the top end) as against when i'm on gasoline. Before it was the opposite (car has a "lighter feel" when on gasoline mode). The plugs were installed with no adjustments made to the LPG system BTW.

On my FC, i'll know if it improved in the next few weeks as my FC usually drops then increases over time after i change spark plugs.

There's also an Iridium LPG plug although i have not checked; got this from the web: BKR6EIX-LPG and BPR6EIX-LPG.
