SGI kit from greenfuel. Whenever the LPG automatically switch to unleaded the engine stops.

Would you know the solution for this?

Do i have to clean the air filter?

I hope i can DIY if not, i need to go to greenfuel.

    Thanks...
If the lpg runs well, it probably isnt the lpg system but rather the car's gasoline system which has a problem.

Oh, I have this problem as well. My car is an SGI system too.
My suspicion on my car's problem is the car's gasoline fuel pump injector. Mine seems to be an electrical problem which could have been complicated by the fact that the lpg injectors' wirings were spliced and added to the gasoline injectors electrical wirings.

Im currently looking for someone really good in car electricals to correct this problem.

    Hi guys,

I refuelled at Metrooil along A.H Lacson St, one evening, switching off the engine while doing so. After the full tank, when I started the engine , sobrang naging palyado yung makina! If I let go of the gas pedal, patay yung makina! I hardly made it a home...

the next morning, Ok na ulit siya and back to normal.

What do you guys think? i suspect baka maraming hangin na laman yung lpg nila

Oily LPG contamination is my wild guess. When I do experience rough idling, I usually run on Gasoline for a few minutes and then switch back to LPG. Somehow SGI injectors need to untangle its stuck up tiny pistons. On severe cases I do unplugged the LPG hose from evaporator/condenser to the injector rail and rest it for some 10 minutes and plug it back, usually rough idling goes away.

I usually have half tank Gasoline when travelling, so I use it whenever I need to

Hi Mile2. I'm also experiencing this problem. Do you need to unplug all of these hoses or just hose #2? Thanks in advance.

    Just the hose #2

Note: Don't pull it out at once, it will make a huge puffing sound try to reduce the pressure by rotating the hose back and forth and releasing trapped LPG gas little by little.

Thanks Mile2. Dapat yata meron na lang tayong valve between the hose and the injector that we can use to conveniently release trapped LPG from time to time.

    Cheers!

When you say adapter this is the aluminum material on top of your carburettor and where your cars air filter is placed, Did i understand you correctly? I'm assuming your vehicle is Carburettor type or EFI Type.
You should ask your converter to install this tightly so as not to have air leaks. You should be doing at least 4.95km/ liter if your car is doing 5.5km/liter. (this is the acceptable power and consumption drop around 10% for carb and efi type)

for the meantime, im not using my LPG kit. Last time i go full tank on my 50L donut tank, i just reached a mix driving (60% highway), i just reached a cumulative km of 250 plus. It seems my Adventure is running so lean.

My team won't mind taking a look at your car. See what we can do to help you with your consumption and other issues. You invested on the conversion and We'd like to help you maximize it. For as long as its EFI or Carb I think we can assist you. For SGI that would be your converters look out.
You can visit our shop in Timog Ave. Q.C. pls. feel free to drop by we're open till saturday.

Thanks for the concern sir. My unit is an SGI. Im talking a vacation on it since im not really happy with my conversion. From time to time, may problemang lumalabas. Per my computation, very minimal na lang yung natitipid ko. Baka abutin pa ako ng 2 years for an ROI. My SGI was installed July 2008.

ganito din ang problema ko sa civic ko. maski na i ayos mo yung hose going to the adapter at higpitan yung clamp, lumuluwag pa din.

im doing around 7-8km/li lpg on the average. using emulator type. kailangan nga ibalik sa installer (greenfuel) to tightly fix the hose-adapter para hinde luwag ng luwag.

so far im still using lpg, smooth running after they replaced the busted vaporiser.also change to 1 step colder plug.

Ako din bakasyon muna sa LPG. The current price diff is not that significant in my case (kasi nadadaanan ko yung Caltex sa Edsa with unleaded (not E10) *P29.70/liter vs most LPG *P20/liter). Although meron pa rin konting savings sa LPG, I don't think it's worth the trouble of going back to Greenfuel every month or so for filter problems or stuck up injectors(?) or something...

I'm consuming 10-12 liters of LPG a day so for me savings is still appreciated. So far I'm happy with my GreenFuel conversion.

BTW, have you guys seen the new PLDT Facelifted 2009 Innova's? It has filler port near the gas tank lid, wonder why they have to drill a hole on the body, when they can put the filler port underneath the body like what GreenFuel did to my Innova.

Less vulnerable to damage either by snagging something on it or vibration.

Kinda weird that it seems SGI systems are more problem prone than the older Venturi kits. I initially thought that the SGI systems would get around more of the problems of the venturi system. But it seems to be the other way around.

The venturi system seems to be a more robust system if a bit crude way to inject fuel into the engine. Less susceptible to oil contamination. Only drawbacks are the lower overwall power, more frequent air filter maintenance and slightly less fuel mileage.

Seems to be a hot or miss thing. I guess its mainly that the SGI kits are more hooked up to the engine management system and the like; plus its still on the first stage of development over here as compared to the venturi kits which have been around longer.

Thankfully my SGI kit is still doing well with nothing more needed then some fine-tuning in the start (same with my officemate... we both have similar rides. :D)

Yes this happens due to our road condition. Anyway we can fix this problem easily
