Good evening sir. I discern you are an autogas retailer, I hope you can forgive this query.
I am writing an article on LPG Autogas prices for another automotive thread, could you direct me to where I can secure import and consumption data for automotive grade LPG? Also, who should I see regarding quality standards for autogas vs. for cooking gas standards, assuming there is any distinction in importation.
Thank you sir, any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Masyado ng maliit ang price difference ng LPG to regular unleaded gasoline.http://www.gmanews.tv/story/148228/L...lback-in-March

MANILA, Philippines - Citing the arrival of a shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) lowering contract prices, LPG dealers hinted Wednesday at a "big rollback" in March.
LPG Marketers Association head Arnel Ty said a shipment of some 25,000 metric tons had arrived for major LPG supplier Liquigaz, and another big shipment is due next week.
"Ang magandang balita contract price ng LPG bumababa. Asahan natin sa Marso may malaking rollback tayo [The good news is that contract prices are going down. We can expect one big rollback in March]," Ty said in an interview on dzXL radio.
But he did not give details of how much the rollback would be.
Ty said the shipment of 25,000 metric tons of Liquigaz, which supplies LPG to small retailers, will likely reach stores in the next three to five days.
He said the 25,000 metric tons will be good for at least two weeks.
"Ito tuloy-tuloy na [We expect the supply to remain stable after this]," he said. - GMANews.TV
Total North Fairview: LPG P23.90 versus their Regular Unleaded(not E10) P 29.20 - 5 pesos 30 centavos na lang ang difference
Yung E10 ng Total North Fairview eh P28.85 lang as of last night.
Back to unleaded munasaka na lang uli mag LPG pag naayos na ang pricing.

just came back from greenfuel, nakita din ang problema ng kotse ko, it turns out na yung vaporizer ang may sala, after replacing with a new (?) one, nawala yung problema na rough idling. sabi ni alvin meron daw part/s sa loob ng vaporizer na madaling masira, yung kinabit niya modified na raw.
so far hanggang makauwi ako dito sa bahay hinde erractic ang idle even if i turn off the AC. ayos na at salamat sa team greenfuel.
ang hinde na lang ayos ngayon yung presyo ng lpg, 21.50 sa cleanfuel sucat..rollback naman jan
ang madalas lang naman na in a adjust nila is the idle screw sa itaas with the use of flat head screw driver. sana hinde naman due to poor quality of lpg kit kasi baka bumalik na naman ang problema.
Actually it was an allen screw, Mike told me it is okay to DIY adjust this one since it only regulates the flow of LPG to the rails. I sometimes adjust it +1/4 turn when I feel rough idling and run it the whole day and then just return it back to original position when the engine went back to smooth idling.
Have you experience this kind of problem?
SGI kit from greenfuel. Whenever the LPG automatically switch to unleaded the engine stops.
Would you know the solution for this?
Do i have to clean the air filter?
I hope i can DIY if not, i need to go to greenfuel.
Thanks...
I'm a total newbie sa auto-LPG. Where can I find an updated F.A.Q? I want to convert a SUV kasi.
Would auto-LPG offer the same performance as unleaded? Parehong hatak, walang slowdown? Same horsepower?
Does it harm the engine any more or less than when the car is running on unleaded?
Low maintenance ba ito?
Use your browser and key in the keyword "auto lpg" and you will get tons of information/FAQ from simple to more technical.
or you can back read this thread, I'm sure all your questions in mind are answered in this thread already.
or you can visit local installers to see how things are done on a car. See this thread also http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50159
Your questions have already been answered in this thread. You might want to take the time to read through it. Your questions and others more have been answered in this thread.
As for converting now, the current price difference of gasoline and LPG is not that big so it might not be economically feasible for you to convert to Auto-LPG unless you are doing a whole lot of kilometers in a month.
New Air Filter Is No Assurance You'll Pass the Emission Test
Let me share this recent experience I had with my LPG-equipped Ford Lynx. In preparation for the annual vehicle registration, particularly the emission test, I replaced my 6-month old air filter with a brand new one (OEM), aside from other engine maintenance works. To my surprise, the Ford failed the hydrocarbon (HC) emission test ALTHOUGH it passed the carbon monoxide (CO) test by a safe margin. To save me Php400 and the trouble of having to undergo another test, I shifted to gasoline and asked the technician to do another round to verify. You know what? The Ford passed with flying colors on gasoline.
When I had the car checked, it turns out the car was running too lean on LPG. I never associated running lean on LPG with high HC emission before, and so this is a new learning for me. David Do (EROOM) took the time and effort of bringing out his emission testing equipment to show me the effects of running rich and lean(LPG) on HC emission. That definitely convinced me! He also advised me that next time, I should have the car checked by the LPG installer/dealer before the yearly emission test to make sure. Naalala ko, the last check was 3 months before with a (just cleaned/nabugahan) 3month old filter.
LESSONS LEARNED:
1. OEM air filters outperforms replacement filters. Compare mo: Hipan mo yun filter on one side, ilagay mo palad mo sa kabila. Ramdam mo mas malakas ihip ng hangin sa OEM filter. Inspect mo sila visually: iba ang material, design, and workmanship. I was using replacement filters (Php300 sa autoshops) for sometime, but when the price of OEM air filters went down (Php985 at Ford Commonwealth. Baka mas mura pa sa Autorama Banawe.) sabi ko subukan ko naman baka pwede tumagal ng one year.
2. Huwag mahiya bumalik-balik sa installer/dealer for checkups. Looks like LPG-converted engines are sensitive to changes to air-LPG fuel mixture (SGI kits probably excepted). Our dealers owe it to us to keep our engines in tune. That is why its important to have your car converted by a shop most accessible to you.
OVERALL, notwithstanding these minor hassles, kahit pa Php30 na lang ang gasolina, I'm still very happy with my LPG-converted Lynx. Nagpa-convert ako June 2008 just before gasoline became most expensive and so I was able to recover the cost of conversion in 4 months. If properly tuned, I do 9-10 kms/l. I still save on fuel expense though just slightly, but I help save the environment.
Failing HC emissions would have meant your car was running rich and not lean, right?![]()
Its ironic, but check out the actual tests figures:
BASELINE
CO 0.63 %vol
HC 123 ppmvol
CO2 12.74 %vol
AFR 15.7
LAMBDA 1.01
O2 0.86 %vol
AFTER ONE FULL TURN (VAPORISER ADJ.) towards LEAN
CO 0.45 %vol
HC 137 ppmvol
CO2 12.60 %vol
AFR 16.0
LAMBDA 1.03
O2 1.08 %vol
I didn't feel the need to duplicate readings of above 250 ppmvol after that. Feel free to validate in actual tests.
And by the way, at proper tune, the strong "LPG scent" in the exhaust was substantially reduced.
Hi,
Im an lpg user for 1 yr and 4 months na. My car is a 1997 Lancer GLXi, fuel injected.
My car uses resistorized spark plugs. But it isnt because of performance issues why I need to use resistorized plugs.
A few years ago (even before conversion to LPG), my mechinic changed the spark plugs from resistorized plugs to non-resistorized ones. In this case, my car's speedometer and odometer stopped working. They would work again if I disconnected then rconnected the battery, but they would only work for a short while. When I shifted the car's spark plugs to resistorized plugs, they went back to normal.
In my research, I found that non-resistorized plugs cangenerate certain forms of static electricity which could interfere with the electronic sections of certain card. If your lpg kit uses some sort of electronic computer or gadget, it might need resistorized plugs to avoid it from malfunctioning. However, it has nothing to do with performance issues.
