anybody here in this thread carrying a tire-fix-in-a-can instead of the usual spare tire? (spare tire is quite heavy and so is the toroidal tank.) is it effective? how long before it expires? what's the cost and where to get one? even a well maintained tire (together with good driving habits) would experience being flat at least once in their lifetime, so i suppose.
I bought a space saver spare tire to replace my full sized spare. It still weighs a bit but the difference in size meant I could stuff the tools and other stuff around the tire.
I did have a tire-fix-can many years ago. It did work by plugging a puncture and inflating my tire enough to get rolling. It was around a year and a half old by the time I used it. Note: avoid "testing" the can because it might get clogged or the gas pressure leaked out.

thanks gh. any shop you can recommend (paranaque/qc area) where i can get this space saver spare tire? how does it look like? i have heard of this bicycle type spare tire. you familiar with this type? and having no spare tire in your vehicle aren't we violating any law here?
anybody knows where i can get the plastic cover for the filler? i checked the cover last night and it seemed that the tip of the thread is loose thread already. now i can't close the filler well. or are there any other covers available in the market aside from the plastic?
to all auto-gas users with 'bayonet' type filler units (or at least eroom filler units): tried to fill up this morning at my usual lpg station and was told that they no longer have the adapter for such filler unit (they call this NAIADSS) as this was already 'outlawed' as per DOE order and it goes daw with other lpg stations as well. what they only have now is the italian type. (this was also taken up here by xoomaster, who likewise offers conversion.) another pain in the pocket eh?![]()
i think that the change in filler from bayonet (korean)type to italian should be free, DOE should order all the authorized autolpg installer with korean filler type to issue a recall without charging their client!!!Originally Posted by abetg
