I would like to have my Suzuki APV converted too. My preferences are....
1. A shop who have done jobs using the same model. Para wala na kapaan.
2. Can take credit cards, 0% interest plans are great. So far, alpagas can do this, but I need to check them out first.
Thanks to GH, there are enough shops to choose from. Will find time (maybe escape from work,) to check this out.
If I opt to have the toroid tank, it will be on the van's underbelly, exposed to the elements. I know these tanks are tough, but should extra armor be added? The tank will be exposed to rocks, floods, and other bruising if I'm unlucky enough to run into deep road craters. Killing me softly, ika nga.
If there's an APV owner who did, I sure like to know more.
Steve,
Thanks for the CNG/LPG info. I'm slowly learning.
* SIR GH
i'm planning to have my LPG tank covered with a woofer box just like what paolorenzo have done with his tank in his revo. And also planning of having a 1x12" sub with slot ported enclosure besides the tank (planning for a SPL setup kasi e). But i'm planning to face the subs and the box upward. Will it (deep bass vibration) have a negative effect on the tank?

Sirs,
Any adverse effect if a car not equipped with an O2 sensor (94 corolla) have an SGI kit installed?
Or would it just be a performance loss from an optimum standpoint?
That is, not maximizing the potential of an SGI kit.
If possible to equip without an O2 sensor, can I subsequently install an O2 sensor after the SGI kit installation? I heard that the O2 sensor seems to be expensive.
Thanks. I'm planning to have an LPG conversion kit the soonest.
You would not be able to use the kit's full potential. It will be operating based on a fixed fuel curve. The fuel curve may or may not be optimum for the driving condition you will be experiencing. This will include problems if you have a dirty air filter, change in altitude, etc.
In the end, it will be operating exactly like the venturi-mixer auto-lpg kit but with a more expensive installation bill.
Yes you can, but it is expensive. If possible to equip without an O2 sensor, can I subsequently install an O2 sensor after the SGI kit installation? I heard that the O2 sensor seems to be expensive.

this made me step back and rethink the SGI path i'm planning to take..![]()
Does that mean that for non-SGI kits, there is a power loss when they are using petrol?
I was under the assumption that the power loss occurs when one is using LPG (for non-SGI kits) and that when you shift back to petrol you regain your usual HP.
FYI pala... The O2 sensor costs P10K with one of the installers I inquired via email.
GH, I am using an SGI kit. Power is the same as Gasoline even on climbs and FC is good. Redman7 claims he has more power on LPG than Gasoline but I am very happy with having exact feel as Gasoline. I guess I am not much of a speed freak. Hehehe. Anyways, are you aware of Valve Seat Damage? I just happen to read some on the internet and it affects LPG fueled cars.
Normal Po ba na medyo nag iinit ung Valve sa may tank ung sa loob ng vapor box, kakatakot kase lapit sa lpg tank .
just got my ZZ from GREENFUEL hehehehe no noticeable powerloss naman e. kung meron man e hmmmm i'd say it would be like running premium gasoline as against regular gasoline in which the case would almost be unnoticeable or psychological lang. as for fuel consumption eh nakaka 10kms pa lang ako on LPG so i can't say yet hehehehe sa timog XOOM autogas pa kasi ako nakapag fill up .... 40liters ... so cheap hehehehehe.
2003 1.6E A/T
bagong change oil using royale purple 10W30 from speedyfix
bagong air filter and sparkplugs
so far so good. Now to test for fuel consumption in the coming week =).
saka nga pala .... oks na oks naman installation ng GREENFUEL ... malinis tignan on the engine side ... pulido ..... sa tank side naman eh i see a minor flaw i guess ..... medyo uga ng konti ang tank .... cylindrical kasi didn't expect it to be so big or rather didn't expect the Altis' boot to be smaller than those i've seen in pictures hehehe .... naka higa kasi yung tank sideways di ba tapos me paa yung tank on it's side to mount on the floor kaso yung mga paa nya umabot na sa area ng spare tire .... so bale it doesn't rest on anything and they just used two small pieces of bar towards the sides .... kaya medyo uga pa din ..... i got home late na so i wasn't able to take pictures yet.
Chuaed, thanks for the picture. Using Rhino lining could do, will such shops do this?
Holy %^&*... I forgot about the tank's gauge!Think, think, think!!!
I'm likely to go to the SGI path.... If installed, which part in the system are likely to fail in the long haul? Can I use parts from other competitor products? I like to consider long-term service options.
In the most dreaded event that the LPG suffered a serious failure, is there a "master" switch that completely disables the system and returns back to petrol mode? Like RAID drives or redundant systems, our car must stay in tip-top shape, even if its actually limping.
Hi Straker! to answer your question regarding SGI Kits. The parts that need maintaining are the Filters which you have to change every 10,000km, Diaphragms inside the vaporizer (cleaning), O-rings due to wear and tear. For the ECU it should last you a long time. The only real concern is choosing the kit to be installed on your system. Each kit manufacturer has their own ECU's so calibrating can only be done by the installer because there is a software involved.
During most LPG failures the system will pick-up the fault and switch you automatically back to gasoline. This should always be the case in these kinds of situations. the change over switch for SGI kits can also be used for manual shifting back to gasoline.
I finally took the plunge and had my 2007 Hyundai Tucson A/T converted at Greenfuel.
Nag gas up ako after wards and though the tank is rated at 50 liters, 24+ liters lang nalagay puno na. Bakit kaya.
Thanks
