its more difficult to manufacture a donut tank than a cylinder so it generally costs more. some installers pass on the price 100% to the customer while others would offset the price from the cylinder tank's price.

Avanza needs SGI kit. Plastic intake manifold kaya di recommended ang mixer type kits.

Kung malapit ka sa Quezon Ave, go to Toyota QA. May display sila na converted J model. Mas mahal pag sa Toyota ang conversion. You can check GH's list of conversion shops.

In my case, I only have increased the cleaning/replacement schedule for my engine's air filter. Other than that, everything is normal as if I was running on gasoline.

Some users say that, mas magiging mainit daw ang temp by using LPG, so may remedy ba dito?
some users... I assume those would be taxi drivers? Anyway, you will potentially experience engine overheat if your auto-lpg system (as with a gasoline system) is tuned to run on a leaner air-fuel ratio than recommended.

To counter this, have your fuel system tuned to run on the correct air-fuel ratio.

1 installer said na once converted to LPG, kailangan fully synthetic oil na ang gagamitin sa engine. what other maintenance ang kailangan mo gawin ngayon dahil converted ka na, unlike before.
I am running on regular motor with regular sparkplugs running on a typical tune-up schedule for the last two years. No need for synthetic motor oils nor special spark plugs. Taxi cabs (lpg or gasoline or diesel fueled) tend to require better oil because of their operating environment (250 or more kilometers in a day).

Na mention din nung installer na kailangan daw in top condition ang engine, otherwise mas magiging disadvantage ang kit, especially yung may mga oil leaks o singaw somewhere. any comments sa mga naka convert na.
Auto-LPG is just like running on gasoline. Any existing problems will NOT be cured by converting to auto-LPG. So if your engine has a tendency to overheat with gasoline, it will still have the overheating problem when running on LPG. The same with oil-leaks, it will NOT magically disappear if you switch to running on LPG.

A poorly maintained engine will perform poorly whether its running on gasoline or LPG.

ang alam ko lang na special maintenance na ginawa ko since nagpakabit ako ng LPG kit is yung cleaning the air filter more often, other than that wala na yata. as for the engine oil, i think minerale oil works just as fine as the synthetic oil. as for the temp, alam ko yung issue na overheat sa mga taxi is yung 1st gen LPG kit e, si sir GH ang makakasagot ng tanong na yan. about the engine condition, whether your ride has LPG kit or not, i think the engine should always be in a top shape.

well, it's still your choice and computed risk if converting to LPG is worth it. Just compute how much you can save in a month.

i suggests na hintayin mo muna matapos yung warranty (3yrs or 50k kms, whichever comes first, right?) before ka mag convert sa LPG. sayang kasi yung warranty, engine warranty ang mabo-viod pag nagkataon e.

Kung hindi naman taghirap at naghahanap ka lang ng paraan to save more money then wait ka na lang matapos warranty. Pero kung taghirap na, to hell with the warranty

I am just basing it on the price of the tank (cylinder to donut) option. I was able to canvass the price of donut tanks at some manufacturers abroad as well.

Some auto-lpg companies charge P2K for the donut tank option while others would charge you P7K. Go figure.

oo nga, boss gh. . .i'm just wondering. . .the question is directed, actually, to the installers. . .maybe big mike can provide a little light into it. . .i never see him post lately, though

Tingin ko with EROOM, they probably by the kits by the set. So whether they use the cylindrical tank or not, it's probably the same price for them. Dapat yung EROOM/Koreans ang mag-adjust, so Denso can give better upgrade options to customers. I'm sure marami na rin customers who turned to other installers because of this. Sayang, kasi I think the EROOM system is really good. Laki lang talaga nung tank na naka-bundle.

i think may nasabi dati si mike (bigfootoz) dito sa forum na they also offer torpedo tank in which (i think) mas maliit compared sa 66L cylindrical tank nila though i never had the opportunity to see those torpedo tanks dahil nung nagpa install ako, ang available is 66L cylindrical tank and the donut. ok sana yung donut though di kaya kasi ng budget hehe last time na nagpunta ako sa EROOM/ Denso-Coolmate, may 3 cars ang nagpapa install ng LPG kit, a 99 cefiro, a Volvo SUV, and 2002 honda city, and may nag inquire pa na naka BMW 5 series amp

"big mike" has been busy lately. A lot of people having their rides converted to auto-lpg because of the current fuel prices.

Meron sila nung smaller tank, pero same diameter as the 66L tank, half the length lang. Hindi ni-recommend ni Mike, kasi nga 6mm yung tubing nung smaller tank, and the 6mm copper tubing is nowhere near the quality of the 8mm standard tubing. That's why di ko na pinilit.

We have the same situation, pero decided na ako, don't care about the warranty anymore. I'm just waiting for the installers to open their credit line....Stargas said baka next month puede na. I bet the other installers will also be doing the same.
