thank you for the reply. i thought so too that there would be some kind of a fuel consumption penalty. i cannot decide whether it would be worth it to go for the sgi or for the closed loop system, all depends on the corresponding fuel consumption penalties inherent in each of those systems.

The biggest penalty is the purchase price for EROOM's closed-loop LPG systems if you go beyond the standard config of the system. Upgraded tank or donut tanks cost a lot more than with other installers. Closed loop systems do have better fuel mileage than open loop but poorer than sgi systems. SGI systems also offer better fuel control than closed loop.

If you are just getting the basic closed loop, then the price is fine. But if you plan to get a closed loop with torroidial tank (costing P7K more), you would be better off opting for the SGI kit offered by GREENFUEL or GREEN GAS.
