sir, noobie question...yung intake manifold ba ng 99 ford lynx eh plastic or not? im more inclined kasi sa closed-loop kit vs SGI kit kasi hindi naman ganun kalayo takbo ko monthly (500kms). mas mabilis mabawi yung installation nung closed-loop kaysa sa SGI. Thanks

Based from "Niky", he said the Lynx intake manifold is metal so you can use the open or closed loop mixer type LPG kits.

I have B16 engine in my civic na nakatambay na dahil mahal gasolina ngayon at sinaksak ko muna stock. I love the kick of the B16 and I want to experiment it with LPG. Pwede kaya? Gusto ko kasing paglaruan uli. Ano kaya best system for this engine? Please enlighten me.

Actually, it's my brother's CRV. I'll post pictures when I get the opportunity. I hope you don't mind celfone pics (well, its a 3mp camfone so it should be clear enough).

Damage came to P42K++ with the donut tank and some wood work (to raise the floor) and carpeting redone with velcro.

Although your Civic SiR can take the mixer type LPG kits, I would suggest going for the SGI-LPG kit and possibly ask the installer to install nozzles normally used for 2.0L engines. The SGI system should retain the engine's power but you might need to work closely with the installer to properly make a good fuel map for the SGI-LPG system.

I was just thinking about if LPG conversion kits can be applied to turbo charged engines.

Since SGI-LPG kits take their base values from the stock fuel injectors, I think it's possible to install SGI auto-LPG kits on STOCK turbo-charged engines although it might be interesting to see the LPG fuel map for this setup.

For those with aftermarket turbo setups, it might be nearly impossible to use auto-LPG without a major compromise on power output from your engine.

    Just some thoughts... :fuzzy:

Hi there GH! Long time no post here.....

you might like to check out some LPG turbo installations at:
    http://www.arunautogas.co.uk/autogas_lpg_conversion.htm

there are also quite a few turbo installations at Gas Research Australia.....

if you'd care to google them.

Actually, turbo or supercharging increases the volumetric efficiency of LPG and works quite well. I am toying with the idea of supercharging my old MB200 which is already running a venturi mixer. The supercharger will work very well in "suck-through" mode using a conventional carburetor and mixer.

    just some thoughts too......

    cheers,

    steve

Long time no hear from you...

One major item I am fearing with a venturi mixer with a turbo is the chance of pre-igniting the fuel-air charge before it reaches the cylinders. That is why I was thinking of SGI kits as a better option than mixer type LPG kits.

Hello to everyone. Im new here and the reason why I join tsikot is know some information amount LPG driven cars. Yung isang kotse ko na Mits. Spacewagon 97 naka LPG na. Mag 2 yrs. na by Aug. 28. So far bawi ko na yung cost. That time yung price for installing LPG kit was 30,000.00. Yung lang nga yung pinaka maliit na tank lang kinuha ko para di masayang yung 3rd row seat ng spacewagon. 2 years ago ang difference ng LPG vs. unleaded was only 15.00 ngayon tumaas na ang difference to almost 22.00. (49.57 - 27.70= 21.87). kaya tuwing nagpapacarga ako ng almost 30 liters ng LPG ang savings ko ay 656.10. Ngayon dahil malaki pa babawiin ng mga oil companies sa cost, baka meron dyan nagpa-convert using a donut type na tank para sa 2006 CRV ko naman ikakabit. At how much ang cost and how long?

Typical price for an SGI kit with donut tank would be around P40K+ (I think). Installation takes two days.
