Our most recent batch of personal vehicles converted to LPG using GREENFUEL's SGI kit are all running well.

    -Honda City 1.3L iDSi
    -Mazda3 1.6L
    -Honda CRV 2.0L (gen2)

    Thanks Mike!

At least we can save more money now.

well,... gold city (with standard cylinder) and silver crv (with donut tank)

The red crv you mentioned might be the one owned by one of the partners of GREENFUEL.

    Thanks for the acknowledgement
Hope we can convince more people to switch to lpg. It is not only a clean fuel but also a safe and affordable.
I hope people realize that the sooner they switch to lpg the sooner they reap the benefits of a cheaper and cleaner alternative fuel.

If I may add, most Italian manufacturers have actually set up manufacturing facility or have subcontracted parts in Turkey due to labor cost. That is actually how Turkey got their start in the auto-lpg kit manufacturing.

Hi mga Sir, ANONG DIMETER NG TOROIDAL ngayon sa Pinas 550mm at 600 mm ba or with differents variation for every car . Paano ba mag refill kung sa loob ng kotse located yung LPG tank, kailangan ba itong ibaba during refilling or may special hose

Refilling is done through a filler valve that is mounted on the car body. The filling valve is where the lpg enters the before it reaches your tank. This is usually placed in an accessible area for gas boys to reach. Normally we would place a separate holder just underneath your bumper slightly concealed however still accessible. Lpg is channeled through the filler valve to your tank that is fixed/bolted either on your tank spare well (if toroidal) or inside your trunk (if cylindrical)

    Hello Redman7,

I am curious about your car. We have similar vehicles. First, I think I read it somewhere your mileage is around 9km? Mine is AT and mileage is terrible. Anyways, you had your Lynx converted. How is it? Planning to do the same. Have you posted your pics for the tank yet? Since we have same vehicles, I might as well copy your setup if you don't mind. Thanks!

Well, this year I haven't gone anywhere outside metro manila aside from a day trip to Clark so far but last year I went to Baguio and during a long weekend holiday, I went to Subic and the nearby areas with the car running on LPG.

BTW, I am not counting my occasional trips to Tagaytay, Alabang, Sta Rosa, etc.

Either way, I have encountered no problems with my car in regards to the LPG system.

    Personal opinion, no.

As long as they correspond to the DTI safety standards, the only difference would be the price you will be paying for the LPG kits. Some installers might install a kit cleaner than others though (example, all the added wires & hoses are tied down properly with nylon ties and not left loose around the engine bay).

To those who are looking to converting to auto-LPG but has personal doubts about it's safety...

I have been driving my car converted to running on auto-LPG since Aug 2006. The auto-LPG kit type I am using is an open-loop mixer type kit with EFI emulator. It is roughly the same kit used by most lpg fueled taxi cabs in the metro.

I have generally no problems related to it except I have to keep my engine's air intake filter clean more often than otherwise. I have NEVER experienced LPG leaks into the passenger cabin. I only experience one LPG leak but that was contained by the guage seal. The leak was quickly fixed by the LPG installers by tightening the bolts that held the metal pipes to the tank in the trunk.

My car has been driven out of town as far as to Baguio (from Metro Manila) and back running on LPG. I enjoyed driving around Clark & Subic during a long week-end while fueled by LPG the entire time. I have driven up to a speed of 165kph on the Star Tollway while fueled by LPG which is not bad since my top speed achieved with gasoline is also 165kph. I have kept my car maintenance schedule just the same as when the car was still running on gasoline although I could have extended oil change schedule due to the fact that LPG keeps the motor oil cleaner longer than gasoline.

The only downside I have experienced with auto-LPG is the decreased space in my trunk which is not really bad since I still have enough space for a week or two worth of groceries or for a medium sized luggage.

And for those who might say an auto-LPG car might explode if someone crashes from the rear of the vehicle, the auto-LPG fuel tank is much more stronger than the factory gasoline tank is most cars. In the worst case scenario, the LPG tank would just deform but still keep it's contents. A standard gasoline tank would have long ruptured and poured out it's contents on the surrounding area.

So for those who are still deciding, maybe it is already high time to get serious about converting to auto-LPG to help you start saving on the cost of your vehicle's fuel. 40% savings on the cost of fuel is not something you can ignore, right?

im planning to convert our 99 ford lynx ghia to LPG na din. went to DENSO vito cruz-kakarong st Makati last Saturday. Had a talk with sir Boy. 26k yung closed loop kit (Korea) including the tank. minus 1k pag may sensor na yung kotse. Installation including leak test and tuning is 1.5days.

a.) malaki ba talaga difference ng features ng closed-loop against SGI kit?
b.) ano mas maganda sa 99 ford lynx ghia?
c.) gaano katagal ng installation sa SGI kit?
e.) saan mas malaki nawawala ng power at mas makunsumo?

*sharon and BigMike: how much po yung closed-loop kit nyo including installation, tank, etc?

    Thanks

SGI-LPG kits inject the LPG right before the intake valves of the cylinders. The flow rate is adjusted by the feedback from the oxygen sensor of the car. Amost no power drop at higher RPMs.

Closed loop mixer kits still have a mixer donut which flows LPG into the air intake. The closed loop system adjusts the amount of LPG flow based on the oxygen sensor of the car. Some minor power drop at the higher RPMs.

The difference is the SGI system offers more accurate air-fuel mixtures than closed loop system. The advantage of closed loop is its cheaper and provides less power loss than an open loop system.

Installation of an SGI system takes about two days at GREENFUEL. It was also estimated to take two days for DENSO/EROOM closed loop LPG kits. Open loop kits take a half a day to a full day to install by most installers.

SGI offers better power and fuel economy but closed loop systems are not that far behind. But in the end, the difference is made by the final tuning of the LPG system.

before i was not seriously considering converting my ride to run LPG, but with the continuous increase in fuel price, i think this is the way to go.

looks like LPG conversion has matured here in the philippines so safety issues are very minimal to tolerable.

kung pwede ko lang isabay ang pending ko na TOH with the conversion, that would really make my day .

i expect for a price drop with the conversion kit and further improvement in the following year when i should be able to afford it.

congrats to those who have been converted . i'll be following your footsteps in the future

I read James Deakin's article regarding LPG on an old issue of C! Magazine. And like GH's post above, it clears doubts and misconceptions about LPG, and points out the benefits.
