Kayang-kaya 'yan dito sa Pilipinas. Just choose your favorite solon and put him/her under the hood. Presto! A car powered by hot air!
Lagay ka na lang ng sticker sa hood, "Air-powered car: Politician Inside".

hmmmm, so if this happens for real, we can see gas stations putting meters on their air hoses and charging for every liter of compressed air... :D

November 3rd, 2004 03:19 PM #6hehehe....kidding aside! The technology is for real!
The CAT engine is no longer an internal combustion type, hence its exhaust is simply air!
Click on the following link and read on about this technology:

the major obstacle for this "engine" techology is the power to weight ratio. Also getting a good range within a city might be hard to accomplish... that 300km per full tank might be from highway driving only.

another obstacle is the storage requirements needed for the said compressed air. weight also becomes and issue if you have "full tank".

November 3rd, 2004 07:24 PM #9Apprehensions usually come with new and untested technologies. I myself would not want to sit in this vehicle with air tanks compressed with air up to 4700 Psi unless the safety is tested and assured!
The manufacturer; e.Volutions claims that Mexico is ordering 40,000 of these cars for use as Taxi's...this we got to see!;)

it would be interesting if they would try a circuit race with these type of car... hehehe... it would be interesting to see how you can turbocharge an air powered car... hmmmm :D
