Ever heard of the Air-powered car? A French company is pioneering in developing vehicles propelled by highly compressed air. Check out their site for more info:

Kayang-kaya 'yan dito sa Pilipinas. Just choose your favorite solon and put him/her under the hood. Presto! A car powered by hot air!

Lagay ka na lang ng sticker sa hood, "Air-powered car: Politician Inside".

hmmmm, so if this happens for real, we can see gas stations putting meters on their air hoses and charging for every liter of compressed air... :D

hehehe....kidding aside! The technology is for real!

The CAT engine is no longer an internal combustion type, hence its exhaust is simply air!

Click on the following link and read on about this technology:

the major obstacle for this "engine" techology is the power to weight ratio. Also getting a good range within a city might be hard to accomplish... that 300km per full tank might be from highway driving only.

another obstacle is the storage requirements needed for the said compressed air. weight also becomes and issue if you have "full tank".

Apprehensions usually come with new and untested technologies. I myself would not want to sit in this vehicle with air tanks compressed with air up to 4700 Psi unless the safety is tested and assured!

The manufacturer; e.Volutions claims that Mexico is ordering 40,000 of these cars for use as Taxi's...this we got to see!;)
