Same, a friend of mine sold his DMAX and replaced it with a Strada.
Best decision he ever made, as per him.

October 27th, 2012 09:02 AM #32In all honesty sir both trucks are good pinaka basis mo nalang po siguro dito is personal preference kaya try to test drive both units nalang to see which you like better. I can't say that the dmax is uncomfortable kasi I came from a Fuego kaya para sakin (sobrang tibay ng Fuego) anything except an unladen double axle truck ay mas comfortable sa fuego hehe. Hilux I can't say anything about kasi wala akong experience pero from inference I feel na they are very similar products.
p.s. nabasa ko sa Philippine Star all new dmax daw 3rd quarter pa next year. Sa business section ko pa nahukay an indirect article about Isuzus sales growth for this year and forecast. This is the first concrete statement from the company I saw about an all new dmax since 2010 pa ata inaabangan.

NAPAKA-GALING mo talaga Boss Bab!
At may power-lag yan before reaching 2000 rpm.
Cheers!

I like the ranger its Big, must be pain parking it (Heck i'd buy one pero wildtrak). Ganda talaga... hehehe
New D-max yet to be released mukhang maganda yung face. size looks manegeable.. kita nyo ba yung sa UK nila version, 2.5 twin turbo... Deym ... hihihi... Goodluck if Isuzu brings that here...hahaha
Hi-lux kasi face lift lang, same chassis. Now offering VNT really? lam naman natin na matagal na yan sa thailand, ngaun lang nilabas nila dito. Really no bragging rights for toyota there.

Sir idol Jut703, hang-on, not so fast ---- Since you stated the word IN GENERAL, are we sure about in general?
Here's yet another proof (2008 Department of Energy's Fuel Economy Run) apart from the 2009 Australian 4x4 diesel pickup comparo posted here earlier: http://www.doe.gov.ph/EE/2008%20Fuel...Pick%20Ups.pdf
Toyota Hilux 2.5 D-4D (102-hp 2KD-FTV) - 19.12 km per litre
Toyota Innova 2.5 D-4D (102-hp 2KD-FTV) - 18.41 km per litre
Mitsubishi Strada 2.5 Di-D (136-hp 4D56) - 18.57 km per litre
Mitsubishi Montero 3.2 Di-D (160-hp 4M41) - 13.05 km per litre
Nissan Navara 2.5 (144-hp YD25DDTi mid-power) - 17.06 km per litre
Isuzu Alterra 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ (146-hp 4JJ1-TC) - 19.44 km per litre
Isuzu D-max 2.5 LT (81-hp 4JA1-L) - 20.57 km per litre
Isuzu Crosswind 2.5 (81-hp 4JA1-L) - 18.03 km per litre
Obviously as can be seen, the generality in your statement is not true at all, in general.... The bigger displacement Isuzu Alterra that comes with relatively more powerful engine compared to the Isuzu Crosswind, Nissan Navara (mid-power model), Mitsubishi Strada (non-VGT), Toyota Hilux (non-VGT) and Toyota Innova sips even less fuel than them all.
But then again, have you heard about the Automobile Association of the Philippines test on the D-max 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ econo-run test that covered 1,844 kilometres in just one-full tank amounting to 76 litres of diesel? That one driven by AAP's Domingo Escarieses in October 2010 posted a fuel mileage of 24.26 km per litre, eclipsing that 20.57 km per litre fuel mileage posted by the D-max 2.5 LT.
Perhaps you just forgot to consider the word TECHNOLOGY when you made the remark IN GENERAL.
Personal anecdotes are good sir Jut073, as long as you can back them up ;)
Cheers!

November 8th, 2012 03:53 PM #38* TS, like what d_mac mentioned go for the Hilux. Medyo disappointing talaga yung Dmax ngayon kasi you are basically paying for upgrades that are just aesthetic. Kahit na yung VNT engine na nasa Hilux ay luma na as per global standards, it's still "newer" compared to what the current Dmax offers.
Also, mas malaki yung cabin space ng Hilux compared sa Dmax. I personally like the rear seats that fold up to create more space inside. ;)

November 8th, 2012 05:38 PM #40May waiting time ang Hilux dyan sa inyo sir? Gaano katagal? Nag inquire kasi ako sa Toyota Dasmarinas Cavite yesterday, longest wait is 3 days depende sa color. Yung Extreme Black or Super Red yung may mahabang wait time. Kapag Lithium (Silver) or Freedom White meron DAW stock agad.
as an aside, in the olden days, anyone who does not move 'ala luksa during Holy Week, especially...
