tsk tsk my God you shouldn't get your grandmom riding a fort. sa ms ok na yan and oh congrats on your upcomming ride.

For me, sa MS ako.

    agree.

thats very true. I bought the fort out of curiousity din kc eh kc nga matibay daw toyota, etc.. it was my first and last toyota

before the fort been using my dads old pajero...

after using the fort for a while... noticed their difference and the fort was way behind a mile..

HEHE!

Its so easy now to bash the Fortuner. I agree it comes up short in a lot of areas esp. its a very much hype at its launch.

The reason why it sold well is its market positioning at that time. Its intriguing design, commendable price, and the Toyota brand stacked up good against the FM Pajero which is the most popular SUV prior to it.

Going back, for a price difference of 100,000 from a Ford Escape you can have a 7-seater mid-size SUV na (the 2.7 VVTI Fortuner).

Between the 1st-gen 4x2 Everest and the 2.5 D4D, most chosed the latter because of the porma factor, the brand, and the resale value.

The 3.0L Fortuner is a better value vehicle than the Fieldmaster at 4x4 pa.

So its a no-brainer, people flock to the Fortuner.

Mitsubishi learned from it and, of course have to address the shortcomings, otherwise it would be no contest. And we are now beginning to see that the Montero Sport II is mechanically a more superior vehicle.

im a very satisfied owner of toyota fortuner facelifted

for me hndi cya matagtag, ( iba namin car expe and bmw325 ) kya nacompare ko.

ung nasa decision stage p lng ako nakita ko ung montero sport mas maliit ung loob nya, and ung likod nya parang fuzion ( ayaw na ayaw ko itsura ng fuzion) minsan hawig pa ung rear sa ford escape. and hndi pa talaga cya tested kac bago lng hndi tulad ng fortuner tagtag lng problema ng iba ( madali naman palitan ang shocks and suspension for me)

strada and montero sport same platform ( gnaya lng nla toyota)
strada and montero sport made in thailand din ( same as fortuner and hilux)
