IMHO the fort is nothing more than looks. not to offend owners ha, opinion ko lang po toh heheh..
kasi naman fort has bumpy ride with stock springs. while on other vehicles like MS, SF they are smooth riding nman not to mention its more cheaper. in the facelifted fort ba iba na ang suspension design? sana naman kasi jan argabyado ang toyota at jan argabyado ang mga toyota owners. i read one post here na yung friend daw nya bumili ng fort just because of the name TOYOTA on it. not after few months nagreklamo dahil masyadong matagtag ang ride nya. i really dont understand why toyota is still the choice of many while IMO, sometimes you cant get the value of money you spent with it. i know, i know toyota has more edge on parts but mitsubishi? bah marami din naman ah. thinking 4m41 is a modified 4m40 where some parts are interchangeable. resale value? kung tatalino ang mga tao, none will buy a stock 2nd hand fort at a high price cause of the bumpiness of the ride. power? di na kailangang itanong. 4d56 crdi is even more powerful and reliable than d4d (sayang lang walang 4d56 sa ms) tested and proven over the years since pajero came into the scene. parts are also widely available. so what know? if im gonna buy a car, i will still prefer mitsubishi over toyota cause of overall value for money. plus you get more features with less price tag
just my 2 cents

October 25th, 2008 01:02 PM #62IMHO, Many got the fortuner mainly because they're left with no other choice. Fortuner's competitors during the years 2005-2008 (before facelift) were Sta. Fe, Old Montero Sport and Grand Vitara? We Filipinos really look on to the resale value of a vechile we buy, thats why many chose the fortuner over the korean made Sta. Fe. and the not so popular Grand Vitara. Many were intimidated by the Toyota Brand on it. It was the only vehicle that can fill the gap between the Prado and Landcruiser, A replacement for the aging Pajero Fieldmaster and what people call a value for money car because of its looks, engine, name, brand etc.
i really need to practice my english .

value for money talaga ang MS.. tapos wala pang guzzling 2.7gas variant..
:victory:

* Starex_Gold: can't wait to get my hands on my MS on tuesday hahaha
i agree with all the things you posted, sobrang ingay nga ng engine ng fort... i had my fort for about a month less than 1K odo, until i noticed the factory defect sa rear door, had it fixed pero was dissatisfied with it so traded it nalang.
2nd week of use ko sa fort, dinala ko cya sa TOPS in cebu (very steep roads), was really curious about its power instead of noticing power i noticed the makapal na gray usok sa likod, a few days later mas nagiging darker na hahaha good thing i traded it after a month only to find out sobrang dami problema dito, sa malaysia forums, mga french even indians sa d4d engines try to google problems with d4d engines ang dami...

i totally agree with SG. ms is value for money talaga. hindi ko talaga ma imagine kung bakit ganyan nlang ka dami ang mga fort sa daan eh unang una matagtag ang ride nya, at mas madami pa silang features na makukuha kung bumili sila ng ibang car at mas mura. is this because ayaw magpa test drive ang ilang mga dealers nh toyota?
are you paying 1.7 million for the TOYOTA badge? what's with it? kung bumili ka ng fort at 1.7m ang nagastos mo, may kasama nang toyota badge at matagtag na rideyung naka sakay na sa fort, how true is this?
sorry ulit, this is not to offend toyota owners. to each his own ikanga

*JJ: when my lola was in cebu for her checkup ayaw nya sumakay sa fort, she'd rather ride the taxi daw kasi she feels like her back daw was being hammered.

For me, sa MS ako.
