The only car I know that beat the prius in fuel consumption is the Hyundai Getz CRDi. So Getz is on top of the world na pala.

    Only in very specific conditions.

The challenge the Prius lost in was a city-traffic challenge. From our experience, very slow traffic plays havoc with the Prius's fuel efficiency, as it depletes the battery (from running the aircon), forcing the engine to turn on to charge the batteries.

In flowing traffic, where you'd likely see 15-18 km/l from the Getz, the Prius will still be doing 20-25 km/l. On the highway, though, the Getz will probably be much more fuel efficient.

For the sub-compact, the City 1.5L AT (2009-2013) is one good car in terms of fuel efficiency. I can do 10-11 km/L on it. Not sure how much better the newer City with CVT will do in terms of fuel efficiency but CVT is supposed to improve its fuel efficiency.

For the compacts (Civic, Altis, Lancer, etc), most will do around 9 km/L so it's up to you which style fits you the best.

For the midsize sedans, I guess no other model can beat the 9-10 km/L fuel consumption of the new Mazda6 with its SkyActiv engine. Other midsize cars can do around 7-8 km/L (or lower).
