The Genesis Coupe, BRZ, 86, and MX5 are all classified as sports cars, the same with the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. They are not just supercars.

Maybe Mustang GT350R or Camaro ZL1 or Challenger Hellcat are out there in supercar performance.

    Yes, agree.

I can't find the article but they classified the 370z as a sports car but not the GT-R.

Technically, if you want to get really nitpicky about it:

The GT-R, Mustang, Genesis Coupe, 911 and 370Z are not "sports cars". They're "grand tourers"... or "sports grand tourers".

The Mustang, in particular, isn't even exactly a coupe, but a two door sedan (like the BMW M3... now M4). The Genesis and 911 are Coupes.

With the latest Mustang model, however, the line of distinction is becoming more blurred.

A sports car is, by definition, a one or two seater, like the MX-5 or the Cayman/Boxster.

"Supercar" is a more nebulous concept. Most people define it as being a lot faster and a lot pricier than your average car. Which the Mustang is, in a country where most people ride the jeepney.

Then again, most Mustang owners in those supercar clubs are friends and barkada of the Ferrari/Lambo owners, and sometimes actually do have a Ferrari or the money to buy one, but choose to bring something more practical for fun runs.

Whatever... useless distinctions. It's awful hard to get excited about owning a car that costs 30-50m pesos that you can only use once a week... at most... and can only drive flat out for a few minutes on the highway (whoops... di na... may mga radar detector stations na yung NLEX). I'd prefer to have something small, light, and with enough ground clearance to safely navigate the Sierra Madre passes without losing too much underbody paint.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Owner type jeeps have a mid-engine layout. Front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive.
