Need a certain mindset to be able to do coding, and another to understand it at a higher level altogether. Not saying di mo kaya [di kita kilala] pero it's not for everyone.

Ask Jut, I'm sure a lot of his batchmates hated their ITM14 class...

    Net yung 90k?

If yes, pasok nga yung sinuggest ko in my earlier post.

    1. Buy a car in cash - 1M

    2. Get property worth ~5M, pay the 30% DP in cash - 1.5M

    3. Keep the 500k as your emergency fund.

    4. Monthly budget
    - 10k for car
    - 45k for loan payment
    - 20k for entertainment/shopping/gimik
    - 15k for savings/investment

But most importantly - learn to live. Should I buy a car just to have a hobby?

The only time I told my Dad "no". I don't have the character to be an MD.

Yeah I think shadow is like that.Though natakot ako sa kanya sa post niya na may baril siya hehe. I'm scared of people who own guns.

I thoroughly enjoyed ITM14. I was even contemplating on teaching it part-time.

It's easily the most useful subject I've ever had - I can cut down Excel work that takes an entire day to just a few hours. Upon entering the workforce, it was my trump card to be relevant amidst more experienced colleagues. Surprisingly, not all fresh grads younger than me are as adept in Excel - I was expecting that by now they would make ITM14 a mandatory subject for all courses instead of the utterly useless ITM11.

    select * from table_a

    inner join

    select * from table_b

    on table_a.key = table_b.another_key

    etc etc etc

    It's fun naman din hehehe

I've seen others take ITM11. Useless nga.

Excel is a different beast. Pero it takes a similar coding mindset to do well. Pwede ka rin siguro sa BS CS or MIS hehehe

I have been in the IT industry for 18 years now. However, I took up electrical engineering in college and I didn't like my computer subjects. I have gone from a developer, tester, designer, consultant, and landed myself in management.

People would ask me about web stuff and all the likes regarding IT work. However, I told them that there are more important coding stuff aside from the web. I used to specialise in mainframe/middleware platforms for banks, credit cards, retail systems, and warehouse applications. All such important IT stuff that college IT grads dislike.

Well to be fair, everyone sees the web part kasi...

Middleware, mainframes, sysad work is not only boring sounding but also very obscure...

Pero yun yung mga backbone ng mga large companies hehe
