Hi guys.. i am currently 28 yrs old living in the Philippines. Currently I have earned almost 3M from working in IT industry. I came from province and I work in Manila. I rent a bedspace on a condominium for 5k a month

Right now, I do not have any gf yet I am also somewhat introvert and do not have any friends. I also do not have a hobby. Is it a good idea to learn how to drive then buy a brand new car worth 1M for me just to make it a hobby? 1 M because that’s the only lowest price of the car na may side airbags (safety kasi yung main concern ko.) I really want to learn how to drive car and syempre, I want to drive my own car after I learned driving. And also, I want to attract girls din and syempre mas convenient na pumunta sa nililigawan ko pag may car ako. Problem is, baka iuwi ko lang yung cAr sa province and baka hindi ko rin siya magagamit lagi since may work ako weekdays. Do you think it is a good decision po?

Sa lagay mo, nope. Pondohin mo nalang sa pagpapatayo ng bahay or pagstart ng business.

In your current situation, it is not practical to have your own car. Since you said you wouldn't be able to use it regularly, it will gather dust and scratches that will "hurt your feelings". Imagine your hard earned money, you spent it to be a "bed" for your cat.

If I may ask, what if the said girl is now "attracted", do you think the girl will be held in a trance?

Let's just say that she became "interested" with you because of your car and finally she is now your girlfriend. Imagine your girlfriend with another guy in her work. Also imagine this another guy, with a "better car" than yours. Now, try to imagine your girlfriend seeing the "better car"...

I would like to leave the rest of the story to your wild imagination.

I may be out of the topic, however, I'd like to point out the motive in buying your car.

Love is never based on feelings. What if the feeling is gone? Or you have another feeling? For example, I love my wife so much. One day, we had a heated argument. This time, I am angry. Does it mean I no longer love my wife? Although I don't "feel" loving my wife at this moment (because I am angry), it doesn't mean to say that I no longer love her.

And so love is never based on any material things. A car will get old and will have breakdowns. But love never fades.

If I may quote, "Love is a commitment towards imperfect people, seeking their highest good, which often requires sacrifice."

If you are looking for "Ms. Right", are you the right guy for her? So you can start by being "Mr. Right" until you meet "Ms. Right".

And by this time, you already have a solid need for a car.

Depends what you are in to.

    I would rather get a nice DSLR+Lenses for 200-300k or a Telescope+eyepieces

or if it was a car just for the sake of having one, it would have to be a miata or maybe a skyline, something I would spend time on.

    So many hobbies to chose

You can attract girls via other means, be great at cooking

Or if you like animals get a dog and walk it in the park.

For me, the primary purpose of a car is not as hobby, but a tool, a utility to do my stuff. Pag yumaman nako gaya ng maraming kaibigan natin dito ay pwede na maging hobby haha.

On second thought, taking care of it, cleaning, detailing, lifting up the hood from time to time na kunwari Alam ko parts sa loob, could pass as hobby na rin pala.

On the subject of attracting girls, it was never an issue. Girls I've been involved with have not looked on the car, bonus na lang Yun for convenience, well at least sa mga babaeng na involved ako. Ewan ko sa iba. Commute ka man, luma or bago kotse, if alam mo dIskarte, mapapasagot mo naman ang babae.

    Kotse pang attract ng babae?
Unless gusto mong panandalian lang, go for it.

Get out. Reconnect with your old friends and malay mo may common pala kayo na interest at hobby. Mas maayos pa yon.

Agree. You will only attract materialistic women. One of the worst kind IMO. You can never satisfy them and IF someone with more money or success comes along then you know what happens next - either you get cheated on or iwanan ka.

But I have to congratulate you, P3Ms savings for a 20 something is a lot. That's enough to buy a modest property in cash.
