Good Buy: It's a toss up. Do conduct a test drive to see if either the Avanza or the Grand Livina suits your needs.
Easy to Maintain: Both are easy to maintain but the Avanza has more spare parts which are cheaper.
Fuel Consumption: No idea on this, but the Avanza J is heavy so it could guzzle gas more than it's 1.5 variant. The Livina's fuel consumption for the 6MT is higher than the automatic. Do research about this
Driving Comfort: The Livina drives like a car (thanks to it's front drive configuration) the Avanza is decent but cannot comment on this.

Paki sabi nalang yung mga needs and priorities mo. good luck!

Avanza is a lot easier to maintain for being rear wheel driven. Rear suspension is solid axle then front is independent suspension fewer linkages than livina, avanza is lighter than livina due to lacking of insulation and sound deadening. Surprisingly avanza is roomier and has bigger cargo than livina when their 3rd row seats are folded. Down side of it is quite matagtag and cabin is noisy during high speed cruising except on smooth roads like sctex, daming vibration sa body. Livina is more comfy suspension is softer parang kotse.

meron bang paraan para mabawasan o mawala yung tagtag?

aftermarket shocks would help pero puwede din na o-sulee na lang sa rear coils. Tapos yung tires mo medyo slightly deflated kung hindi ka naman lagi maraming sakay.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else... Driven To Thrill!

why go through all the trouble if you want comfort eh kung pwede mo na piliin yung mas comfortable na ride in the first place?

i vote for the GL. better comfort+power+utility and hindi taxi

Livina for me. Its ahead in the power and comfort stakes. As for durability, i have no actual experience but our ownership of Nissan vehicles in the last 18 years has been quite positive in that aspect.
