I just test drove MS and Fort yesterday at AutoFocus Carshow.

    My experience:

MS has slightly better suspension than the Fort... but not as significant as I expected (after reading all the comments in the forum). Santa Fe is far better in terms of suspension. Suspension wise, Santa Fe is the winner.

In terms of engine, 3.0 D4D of Fortuner is more responsive than MS and Santa Fe. It is very quiet too considering it is a diesel engine. So, engine wise, Fort is the winner.

In terms of look, I prefer MS because there are too many Fort out there and Santa Fe looks more feminine to me. So in terms of look, MS is the winner.

Before I had my test drive, I was fixed in getting MS. But after the test drive, I got confused. I think the MS craze is because its a new model that will eventually die down (maybe after 6 months to 1 year).

I had my reservation for MS for about 6 weeks now... no response from SA yet. I'm now considering buying 4x2 Santa Fe instead. Fort is still not an option because there are too many on the road.

For me its still Fort, why? yun na nabili ko eh. (facelifted fort 2.7vvti)...
One of the main reasons actually is resale value. (3-4 yrs lang sakin ang car benta ko na)
Suspension? Medyo matagtag parin, far matagtag than my x-trail but as tagtag with my avanza.
FC? Mixed City and Hway, 8.4kpl sabi ng MID

I was wondering the same the November issue of Top Gear I read said they changed the tires to 265/65/17. What was the size before?

I just came from the auto focus carshow & auto expo at the fort.. I test drove the facelifted fortuner..I can say there's a slight improvement mga 10% hehe but its still matagtag..The engine noise of the 3.0 is more quiet & the steering is ligther compared to the Montero..But overall mas gusto ko pa rin Montero even though i own both Montero & fortuner..The test unit for the Montero Sport was the one displayed during the recent Manila International Show..The white one with gold stripes sticker without the bling bling mags..

Of all the SUV's i test drove in the event, my favorite is the Mazda CX9..Ganda ng interior and powerful engine..I also test drove the new Ford Focus TDCi, fast acceleration, very responsive engine & lakas ng torque..

The CX9 is amazing... good choice if you can't afford an X5... ...drives almost as well, because of the huge 20 inch gumballs and the rorty V6.

I think instead of Santa Fe in this comparison siguro dapat Ford Everest mas pareho sa MS and Fort. in terms of purpose and design. The Santa Fe rides and drives like a Camry that looks like an SUV

New Montero Sport 4x4, Fortuner 3.0 4x4 or Sta. Fe 4x4.
