For me, BMW 3 series -> Mercedes E-class -> Mercedes S-class is my luxury progression :naughty2: never did like the current generation 5-series, previous generation was awesome though. 530d really had that engine refinement and could easily smoke most of the modded cars out on the streets.

I'd probably just toss a coin though I prefer the E-class. Not really a fan of the new and "smoothened" 5er. I like the wild lines of E60 better.

I'll go with the 5 Series. Precise driving precision, the ultimate driving machine, and best of all...

    A Diesel option!!

Definitely 5 series. I find the 5 Series to have more presence on the road. Also the 3.0V6 diesel engine is definitely much better. I'm not paying more than five million bucks on a car with an engine that is just a few horses more powerful than a Hyundai engine of the same size despite having two turbos at that.

E-Class. Looks more expensive and classier. :D

523i for 5.8Million? No thanks. Also not a big fan of BMWs nowadays since it was handled by ACC instead of BMW Ph.

The BMW 520d is much cheaper and practical than the E250 CGI..

I've had my e-class for a year -- very happy with it. In contrast, I'm hearing about a lot of reliability issues for BMWs (I'm in Singapore).
