The Chevrolet Aveo is a Daewoo, rebadged as a Chevrolet.
Remember Daewoo?
Remember what happened to Daewoo?
And do you know why Daewoo went belly-up?
The Hyundai Getz is not as solid as a Japanese subcompact, but it's leagues ahead of the Aveo... with a four-star Euro-NCAP crash rating versus the Chevrolet Aveo's one-star (I'd bet an L300 could score higher... :hysterical: ). That alone tells you a lot about the relative sturdiness of the body shells of the two cars. Euro-NCAP not only rates airbag effectiveness, but notes the structural integrity and deformation of crash structures in its testing.

And, add to that... Daewoo's terrible ECU programming, poor fuel economy (even in comparison to the other Koreans, which aren't quite as efficient as the best Japanese) and outdated body and engine technology...
And as for resale value... honestly... do Daewoos even have resale value?
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yes they do! Around 20 pesos per kilo. hehe
But seriously, get the getz, it's the better car.

April 29th, 2009 12:39 PM #17pardon, but... have you considered the possibility that your old car just needs some repair? it might not be as bad as you may imagine. it'll probably be cheaper than buying a new second hand car, too. and remember, there's always a reason why the previous owner sold the used car you are considering.

April 30th, 2009 02:15 AM #18If you're choosing between Getz or Aveo, go for the Hyundai.
Totoo na the Aveo (even the Optra) is a rebadged Daewoo
(since GM owns Daewoo)... although may Aveo at Optra din sa US...
Why Getz?
Mas proven ang reliability nito on our roads.
Pero if you want to consider other cars,
maybe you could vouch for a "price-in-range" used Vios or City
(mabenta yang mga yan ngayon naglabasan na kasi mga 2009 models eh)

May 1st, 2009 01:07 PM #19Thanks talaga sa mga suggestions guys. I got a 1.3 2005 getz, buti naghanap-hanap pako. 13.5k odo, smells and looks new, leather seats saka spoiler din. paid a little under 300k.

Which is better? Amaron or Panasonic Battery?
