Actually the Everest has reasonable resale value naman... Its really the American Ford's like the Expedition that has sucky resale value because of their gas mileage... The Everest is competitive in terms of fuel efficiency...

around 2013/2014 for the next gen to arrive...

I still remember in 2006 when Ford was giving away the Everest just below the 1M MSRP it was the cheapest and best value SUV back then.
I really wish Ford would bring the price of the current model back down around 1.2-1.1M...

Comment lang, eto rin pinagpipilian ko 3weeks ago, actually dreaming to have Montero. Medyo na turn off lang nung nabasa ko sa Mitsubishi forum about mga problem sa Montero, but I still want it. Though pinili ko nag Everest for the reasons below:

1. Over all package maganda nakuha ko, in terms of discounts.
2. yung binigay sakin na warranty is 5yrs or 150,000 km which ever comes first. Malaking bagay to for me.
3. Sa lugar namin Ford lang ang may Casa, I am from Subic, I am working abroad and mas convenient sa family ko kung around metropolitan lang yung casa diba. Honestly ok naman ang Ford Casa ng Subic and same rin sila sa Pampanga at Libis. So far excellent service.
5. Im our company fleet we owned most Ford brand, no issue at all, I even my self have Ford Excursion as company issued truck.

Honestly I still want Montero, actually planning to get one rin but not anytime soon. Both are good SUVs, both have own quality. Parang pagpili rin ng magugustuhang babae yan

So there it goes.

Proud owner of Everest here!
Both have their positive and negative points and i think each one caters/appeals in different group age. For Example:
-younger group age (mga rich kid and yuppies that are doing well) --- They prefer MS because of the looks and porma factor.
- not so younger age (young dads and the likes...) ---- They prefer the Eve coz of the macho/ conservative look

And please note that this is in general....and not always like that.
I really like what niky wrote in his review for the Eve.
"a Karl Malone in a Michael Jordan's world" ----- perfect!

We choose the Everest for 2 reasons only:
- The 3rd row is perfect for my daughter (3 y/o) in comparison to the 3rd row of the MS
- The vehicle fits our budget --- bang for the buck SUV for us!

i don't have any problems with the MS (I've seen a test driven it), sure it has a very nice dashboard and ride comfort is much better than Eve (3rd row seat) but it failed in our primary needs ( a big 3rd row for my daughter and a budget)...and in every comparison that we've made with other brands...the Eve always came up so we chose the Everest....and never regretted getting it since day one!

I think the Everest has proven its worth. The current gen is doing fairly well in sales compare to previous years (though demand is not as high as the MS).

Yes, karamihang gripes is the lack of headrest for the 3rd row (even the top-end AUV like the Sportivo have one).

Many can live with the old-fashioned pull-over handbrake.

Another observation is the big spare tire at the back can obstruct the rear view particularly motorcycles behind the vehicle while in parallel parking.

In my case naman I find the spare tire sa likod as more safety, sa tingin ko in cases of collision yung spare tire sa likod makakatulong mabawasan ang impact sa body ng Everest.

Just enjoy what you have.

we own a 09 winning blue everest ito ang ayaw ko:

5. walang Instantaneous or average gas/diesel consumption display/indicator.

ang gusto ko naman

1. mabilis me OD kase
3. water proof ang computer box (taga antipolo ako via marcos hiway so importante to..remember ondoy?)

Just bought an Everest 2010 model last October. I'm an OFW.

5. 5 years, 150,000km ang warranty ko sa ford cabanatuan. with free pm for the first 5000km. 1.4M lahat lahat kasama tint at reverse parking sensor plus full tank of diesel sa Shell. I bought it cash.

An honest and actual experience.

MONTERO SPORT or FORD EVEREST
