lately... I've been seeing more Mazda6 2.3Ls on the road... (one with wicked 18" rims).

the A/T with manual shifter is good already... down/upshfits are faster than that of the focus/mazda3 but still nothing can beat a good old manual tranny.

Anyone have opinion on whether Mazda6 is built to last? I have a 12 year old European car close to 160,000 km and it still feels as solid as when brand new. It feels like it could easily go another 10-20 years to 500K or 1M km if taken good care of.

Any ideas whether a 2006 Mazda6 could last that long? Not familiar with build of Japanese cars nowadays. Are they built to last forever if cared for, or are they designed to start falling apart at some number of years or km.

IMHO, japs can go further than euros....or to rephrase it, can go further with much less pain in the pocket.

edit: let me rephrase that: "imho, it looks elegantly ***y" ika nge eh, di lang pampamilya, pang-sports pa!

Daily Driver - 6 no doubt, sportiest of the bunch. Side and curtain aibags also make this the safest, not to mention 5-star Euro-NCAP rating.
Family Hauler - Camry, near-Lexus ride and space galore
Executive Mobile - Accord, best balance between 6 fun and Camry comfort
