Hi peeps. Am new here hope to receive a warm welcome. Your opinions are really cool and helpful w/c I have read on previous forums. Am planning to buy my 1st car, budget is 250-280K. can a buy a civic VTI /corolla gli,xe/ lancer 1999 up model. Which of the 3 is economical in terms of fuel consupmtion/cheap on parts and labor and has longer lifespan. Please help and need your expertise on here. Thanks very much.

For an old car, it is always the condtion of the particular unit you are looking at that is important. Never mind the brand or features kung laspag naman and mahirap na pakinisin.

As with any brand, maintenance is essential. Never mind if it is Toyota or Honda, if you don't maintain the vehicle, it will become unreliable and will end its life early.

Alin ba sa kanila ang pinaka-gusto mo? They're pretty much on equal footing at that age. Just get the one you like the most para hindi ka manghinayang na alagaan.

All three have readily available parts (both OEM and replacement) and can be serviced by any decent shop (just check the workshop regarding recommended shops).

Follow Sir Otep's advice... it's very important when looking at the condition of a used car to consider the mechanical condition and body integrity (lack of rust) before considering the brand.

But based on your budget, there's a wide range of nice vehicles you can get... the Civic VTi, despite its lack of airbags, is always a nice drive if you can find an unmolested one in good condition. You can get earlier Lynx Ghias, which are nice cars to drive and well-loaded... just make sure there are no sensor problems on the unit you are looking at, and don't get an AT... Ford/Mazda automatics aren't very fuel efficient or refined.

You can look at Exaltas, but you have to scrutinize their condition carefully, as there are lots of electronics and trim items that are expensive to fix if the previous owner wasn't careful... but it's a seriously luxurious car for a Japanese compact.

In the end, it isn't about the brand. It's whether the actual car you're looking at suits you. Take your time, don't rush your purchase, and enjoy testing and browsing...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
