Depende sayo yan sir kung ano mas importante sayo, features-wise syempre mas lamang talaga ang Lancer. Bigger engine, dual disc brakes, dual airbags, keyless entry and alarm, 195/15 wheels. And I know the build quality / feel and ride isn't too good. Yun ang complaint ng isang kakilala ko sa kanyang A/T Lancer Cedia GLS (and also from what I have read in the internet).

Sa Vios naman, medyo kulang ang features, but if you're a practical person, very liveable yung mga kulang nya. Disc/drum setup is not too bad naman. The bigger wheels means a more expensive maintenance when its time for you to replace them. You can always use your key to open the car... tsaka mabilis at di naman ganon kamahal magpakabit ng alarm. The main advantage is sobrang tipid ng sa gas. I'm doing no less than 12.5km/l in 100% city driving now on a Gen 1 1.3 (pero mga 10.5km/l lang sya nung bago sya). Yung kakilala ko, she's doing only 6-7 km/l on an A/T CVT Lancer Cedia (maybe a +1km/l advantage to the manual). Lower maintenance and operating costs in the long run. Ride quality-wise, I don't have complaints naman on my Gen 1 except for its seats which I find a little uncomfortable when driving long distances.

If it were me, Vios J ako. That's just because I'm more on the practical side and I won't care if my car is being used as taxis here. Marami kasing ayaw kumuha ng Vios J simply for that reason only.

mas malaki at mabigat ang body ng lancer tapos bigger engine pa so expect FC will be higher compared to vios.. pero sa tingin ko mas spacious ang lancer compared sa vios at isa pa hindi ko trip yung center mounted instrument panel nakakairita kasi mapaptingin ka sa harap looking for the instrument panel at magtataka bakit nawala... tapos maaalala mo vios nga pala yung car mo sabay tingin sa gitna..

Vios ako. Mas fresh looks compared sa Cedia. Palit rims, foglights at keyless entry magpalagay ka tapos the rest is stock maganda na yan

Rims could be bought outside. Design would be depending on your preference. If you want to have it cheap, then buy 2nd hand rims then brand new tires ... just make sure that the rims has no or less scratches. Tires would be again depending on you.

OEM Foglights would set you back at 6,500php including install and the switch.

TVSS on the other hand would again cost you another 5,500.

Prices are inquired * Toyota Quezon Avenue.

I guess magiging problema iyan ng dad ko having been used to our Civic for the past 12 years. For me, on the other hand, medyo malabo namang madisorient pa ako, I've never driven the Civic pa kasi eh. Anyway, thanks for the insight!

Space-wise, I really don't think Lancer Cedia is bigger than the Vios. Yes, length is longer by some 200+mm but the design of the lancer is not space eficient (long engine bay, etc). Width, they are the same (specs-wise, Vios is even wider by 5mm), and you even have a higher roofline for the Vios. I would say, they're even in terms of interior spacing.

Re the instrument panel, pag matagal ka nang driver, it takes you less than a month naman to really "get used" to this. I was able to drive a small-body corolla, an itlog lancer, and the same civic model as your dad has before I had my Vios. Naka-adjust naman ako in a short time, and hindi naman ako nahihirapan sa orientation when I borrow the cars of my siblings now, which have the normal instrument panel orientation. No big issue yan. Pangit lang nga yung center mounted design in my opinion but reading it is no problem.

Actually weird ako in saying I like the center dash of the Yaris (pareho sila ng Vios center dash). I love the glove box of the Yaris up front cause I can store my cellphone and whatnot in there (and you can't have that if your gauges are standard). Meron ba ganun yung Vios?

    Alanganin nga yung choices.

If for city driving only, the Vios J would do. Not a fan of the No Alarm/No ABS+EBD/Hubcaps pero it fits the bill.

At 865k kasi, the City A comes into the picture. More or less even with the Vios E except for the hubcaps and 2 speaker setup. Walang keyless entry but merong immobilizer.

*basti08 actually it's okay na.

*homer_jay Actually parang mas maluwag pa nga yata yung Vios eh. I've ridden a friend's Lancer GLX (na 2007 nya binili) and comparing it with the Vios cabs, mas gusto ko pa rin yung Vios. :P And yes siguro nga kaya naman ang Bicol )

*tidus1203 Wala yatang ganyan yung Vios pero okay lang, we don't really use those glove compartments except for safekeeping important docs.

*mda Ayaw nina Mommy eh. Kaya sana but she wants to restrict herself to the last centavo of the car loan. )

:hysterical:

If I were given the same option, i will not even think twice. I will get the cedia without even looking at the vios.

if I will be given a 700k cash, diretso kaagad mitsu dealer para bumili nang Lancer Cedia GLX. jampacked features, space, engine power, porma, reliable and of course, value for money.

Don't reward Mitsu for selling old vehicles trying to compete in a segment it does not belong. If Honda sold the ES Civic would you buy it too? Or Toyota sold the 9th gen Corolla at Vios prices? Reward innovation!

Mitsubishi will always be happy to sell you their Lancer EX if you don't like the old body Cedia Lancer.

and then one of the agent said, Suzuki will be happy to sell you their Swift.

All I can say, consumers can choose freely. Old or New tech, if you want the new tech, then dig for more money. Parang sa Nissan Sentra din iyan. Lalabas na yung new body which has more features but the heck.. 1M naman ang price. Kaya sa tingin ko, retain pa rin nila ang old body because walang mapagpipilian ang consumer for a 1.3-1.6 variant eh kung tatanggalin nila ang old body. Not sure kung same with Lancer ang gagawin nilang tirada sa sales.

    you said it sir.

Maybe the "old" lancer but still sweeter nope much much sweeter compared to the VIOS.

And to reply to some of the "attached" thread topic:

2nd hand toyota altis.... It's 2nd hand. Why get a 2nd hand when you can get a great brand new car?

I will not get an avanza (no offense to avanza users) but your just better off with a cedia. IMO avanza is unbalanced, the center of gravity is just bogus. And it really does not offer much space anyway.

I would really go for the cedia.
