i've watched this cable program TOP GEAR and they compared Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V and Nissan X-trail in performance, economy, looks, price and on & off road. panalo ang X-Trail in overall. so i suggest go for X-Trail. disregard the mileage of the CR-V kasi baka naman na stuck yan sa talyer ng matagal kaya ganun kababa ang mileage.

March 5th, 2007 05:14 PM #22A switch to SAE certified HP won't necessarily mean a drop in the power numers. Measurement is conducted much the same way, except there is an independent observer around so manufacturers can't pad their figures anymore.
From wikipedia on horsepower:
Many manufacturers began switching to the new rating immediately, often with surprising results. The rated output of Cadillac's supercharged Northstar V8 jumped from 440 hp (328 kW) to 469 hp (350 kW) under the new tests, while the rating for Toyota's Camry 3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 fell from 210 hp (157 kW) to 190 hp (142 kW). The first engine certified under the new program was the 7.0 L LS7 used in the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Certified power rose slightly from 500 hp (373 kW) to 505 hp (377 kW).

Of course, GM Engineers were very keenly involved in developing the new SAE standards, so they were testing their engines to the standards long before other manufacturers were.
No cheating there... seriously... many US manufacturers believe in "under-promising and over-delivering".
