August 24th, 2006 01:46 PM #64The new dealership of Ford here in Batangas is offering me the Escape 2.3XLS at 999K again but am leaning towards the CRV 2K5 5P. Will the power to curb weight ratio matter on gas consumption?:
CRV 2K5 5P 150BHP/1420KG 105.63BHP/T
ESCAPE 2.3L 157BHP/1369KG 114.68BHP/T
I have already shortlisted my choice between the two and will decide based on suer inputs as read here and other forums + my personal preference of course.

What transmission is the CRV? If it's the automatic, consumption should be roughly similar.

September 4th, 2006 08:06 PM #69I have been lurking around reading threads for about 2 months now, test driven both and studied every detail After much research and comparative evaluation, the CRV won . I'm happy about my decision.......my first SUV after 2 sedans, a corolla and a civic, wifey happy as well.
I really love the build of the Escape, solid and well built but I also have to go against the interior which can be messed up by my kids, the 2 year warranty and probable overall ownership may be expensive in the long run due.
I'm very happy with my 96 civic..... given me less problems the past ten years in service.....hopefully with my choice, ganun din maging performance...unless I get a melon
Tnx
