    well, BTT

mas marami ang features ng Corolla Altis 1.6G than FD 1.8V. pero if you're after the engine and the handling, mag FD ka na. pero kung comfort and features naman, well Altis sakto for your mom.

Not mine. Grabe naman 20k kaagad.

Just to add to the previous posters...

    Altis

    " +"
+ Rear seats can be folded down (split) to extend the trunk space or for extra long objects.
+ Wide and deep trunk space.
+ Gated shifter (for automatic trans.). Really like this feature. You don't need to look when quick changing gears is required. ie. parking

    " - "
    - Cramped rear interior space. Ingress and Egress a bit difficult. Sitting in the middle can be uncomfortable with the minor hump on the floor.

    Neutral

Automatic Climate Control (for 1.6 G and above). Nice to have this feature but not really necessary. I still like the simplicity of the manual control knobs. Less chance of breaking and thus repair costs and headache in the future.

Driver's side airbag. Would be nice to see Honda put this even on the entry level Civic V variant. Again this feature is nice but really not necessary since it only protects the driver, so if you are just a passenger this feature is useless to you.

    ================================================== ==========

    Civic

    " + "
+ Flat floor in the rear passenger cabin.

    " - "
    - Small trunk space.
    - Price. Less features (than the Altis 1.6 G) and more expensive price. Then again the Civic comes with a 1.8 li vs 1.6 li (Altis). But it does make one wonder whether the bigger engine alone is really worth Honda's price.

    ^^

The comparison that kevin made is mismatched.

    The correct comparison is

Civic V = Altis E ( both doesnt have a single airbag, the civic has a keyless entry, the altis doesnt. )

Civic S = Altis G ( The civic has 2 airbags, the altis has one. )

    Civic 2.0S = Altis 1.6V / 1.8V / 2.0V ( not sure about the safety features of these 2 variants )

although the price of the corolla is way way cheaper than the civic just look at it's safety features.

Pricewise, the Civic V is already in Altis G territory. I'll take the Civic though (took two , one over the 10th gen Altis 1.6 V)

When it comes to exterior design, style and overall looks, the new Honda Civic steals the show on the first look only. The Toyota Corolla Altis sports a bold and professional look, which would mostly attract high-profile corporate professionals and bureaucrats. On the other hand, the Honda Civic would attract buyers of all ages. However, it would mostly attract the young buyers, who look for style and elegance looks.

The Honda Civic features fresh and futuristic looks. It doesnÂ’t looks like any other luxury sedan. Rather, it has its own parameters to define beauty and class when it comes to exterior looks. The front has a thick chrome grille which sits between redesigned headlamps that look cool. The side profile gives a sporty look, while the rear is the most attractive area of this car. The redesigned tail-lamps that edges up to the bonnet lid look simply superb.

well, in my opinion, the description can be true to either one. exchange the car names, and the statements will still "ring true".
when it comes to beauty, it is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

Have not read the full thread, but among this segment of cars ano yung may pinaka mataas na ground clearance? After owning an suv bihira ko na gamitin yung full stock honda city ko since iba iba ang standard ng humps sa cavite, madalas may 1 special na humps na ssayad ako whenever a go to any village/subd.

Planning to replace narin kasi yung 2010 city ko, and torn ako between this segment vs cuvs.
