CIVIC RS 0-100 takes 11secs. In PH.

A Car that can't beat a pickup is TOO SLOW...
Where did you get those figures for the 0-100kmh sprint of the Civic RS? Most would say the Civic RS Turbo is good for just over 7 seconds while the 1.8L model is around 10 seconds.

By the way, 1 metric ton is 2200+ lbs. Also, the F150 SVT Lightning is not your ordinary Asian pickup or PPV.

    F150 SVT Lighting
    Curb weight 4670 lbs. / 2.3ton
    Cart Iron Engine Block
    Hydraulic Power Steering
    4speed A/T
    Multi-port Seaquential Fuel Injection
As usual, what the hell are you talking about?

The Civic weighs 1300 kg, has 173 hp, and gets to 100 kph in 7ish seconds. Top speed is over 200 kph.

Most PPVs weigh around 2000 kg, have 150-180 hp, and get to 100 kph in 10-12 seconds. Most top out at around 170-180 kph.

The Civic, when I drove it, did 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. With the AC on and an engine that was heat-soaked. On the drag strip with proper prep, I don't doubt it can do closer to 7 flat.

None of the pick-ups on the local market can get to 100 km/h that fast. Most diesel pickups do 100 km/h in 11-13 seconds. Only the Chevy comes close, at under 10 seconds to 100.

    -

    Also, the SVT Lightning was:

    1. Limited edition

    2. Couldn't be used for cargo hauling because the SVT variant had less load capacity than a regular F150.

    3. Faster than most sports cars, anyway, so it's not a valid comparison.

    4. Never officially sold here.

    and

    5. Expensive. You'd have to have paid around P3m to import one brand new, back in the day... that kind of money could buy you three Civics.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Niky could you share the vbox 0-100 figures for the Civic 1.8E and the current crop of PPVs?

The EK SiR did the 0-100 in around 7 seconds too, AFAIR. So realistically, maybe around 8-9 in real world conditions.

Subaru's CVTs are slow off the line compared to Honda's... from a roll, though, I don't doubt the XT can outpower the Civic.

    Baka naman sa Dyanmometer yan?

2.0 Civic 5A/T Paddle Shift (NOT CVT) is around 11secs. Honda keeps making false claim on their CVT transmission. They said the Clutch type CVT on Jazz is faster than manual because there is no Torque Converter that slips. Then the put a Torque Converter on the Earth Dreams Technology CVT and still claims the same thing.

We went to the dealership and do an actual test. Halos mag overheat na Tranny naka CVTF heater kasi instead of cooler. Saka palagi naman over exaggerated avertised 0-100kph lalo na yung fuel efficiency. Kung 15km/l yung average fuel consumption di dapat lampas pa sa 800km dapat range.

    DOE ECO RUN 27.56km/l daw

Dami mo na naman pinagsasabi, eh lahat nga ng tests both local and abroad using GPS instrumentation, nasa 7+ seconds lang talaga 0-100 ng RS.

Mas magaling ka pa sa kanilang lahat? 😂

Konti nalang ibaban na kita kasi paulit-ulit na mali-mali pinagsasabi mo. Pinagpipilitan mo pa. Hanap ka nalang ibang forum na may maniniwala sayo. 😊

Are you referring to the Civic's CVT or CVT in general? Subaru WRX at Forester XT, parehong CVT pero hindi sila mabagal.

Ano pusta nyo, sir? Baka bigla nyong bawiin. Hehehehe

Most tests show something around 7+ seconds. It is quicker than the Focus 1.5L Ecoboost, Mazda3 SkyActiv 2.0L, Golf/Jetta 1.4L TSI which are all within 8+ seconds. I don't think the test drivers of both Car And Driver and Motortrend are no slouch in terms of testing cars.

My two cents: Since i have not driven a Civic RS, (nor is acceleration times the sole factor i place in vehicle evaluation), I will put my money on the man who repeatedly test drives cars in local conditions with proper instrumentation for a living, versus someone's dealer test drive with his cousin.
