February 13th, 2010 11:22 PM #22Hehe.
I'd recommend the 1.8S Civic sana.
If your mom's going to be the driver, I doubt kasi na kekelanganin naman niya yung features and extra power ng 2.0
Safety-wise, pareho na rin naman yung 1.8S sa 2.0S.
In the end, it would really boil down to what you need in the car.
1.8 vs 2.0
Pros: Price/Mas matipid
Cons: Minus some goodies (EPS, auto climate control, 2 tweeters, side turn lamps, HID, 17" rims, hydrophillic side mirrors among others/leather seats)
For me, I really think na kapag 1.1M yung pag-uusapan, there are just better cars for the money. At 950k though, the 1.8 civic is decently well priced in comparison with the competition.
***BTW: Nakapag test drive na kayo?Last edited by mda; February 13th, 2010 at 11:27 PM.

February 13th, 2010 11:35 PM #24With the pros and cons listed (both making solid cases for both cars), I suppose it comes down to the personal preference of your mom when she's driving.
My mom for instance likes a smaller more nimble car when driving. Mas madali raw i park and mas madaling i-tantsa in traffic.
My dad prefers a larger car naman kasi he's medyo on the large side hehe.
Maybe a proper test drive will do the trick. I think di naman kayo magkakamali either way.

February 14th, 2010 11:35 AM #27Unfortunately true, especially kapag medyo luma na yung cars.
We had to let go of our 10 year old accord at a price much less than we did our EK civic when it hit 11 years.
Mas malakas kasi gas consumption and maintenance - I think people who buy 2nd hand cars of that general age will tend to value overall cost (factoring FC/maintenance) more than the car's performance kasi.

February 16th, 2010 08:48 PM #29I own a 2008 civic 2.0S, i bought it from my dad, 5k palaang mileage nya, so its like brand new pa rin. Binenta sa akin ng dad ko kasi ayaw sumakay ng mom ko, matigas daw ang bagsak, which is true kasi sporty ang ride nya. For me, ok naman ang ride, malakas dating, tsaka masarap ang handling lalo na pag mabilis and sa curve, kasi pag mabilis sya nag aadjust ung steering wheel in such a way na hindi sya loose pag mabilis and sa curve talagang nag hhug. I'm happy with my civic 2.0S.
Just last week, my dad bought a tucson 2010 GLS, happy sya sa Tucson, soft and stable ang ride. Pero hindi pa namin na try ng mabilis kasi less than 1K pa mileage. Maganda ang porma and pansinin din. Mas malaki leg room sa backseat ng tucson. Tsaka may back up sensor ang tucson.
Ung civic 2.0S paranga ang sagwa lagyan ng back-up sensor, kasi sporty sya, so dapat ang driver din magaling mag drive so hindi na nya kailangan ng back-up sensor.
If my dad didnt sell me his civic 2.0S i was considering buying a tucson 2010, because i already have a 2003 civic, so gusto ko naman ng SUV (i think tucson is a mid range SUV).
If female na middle age ang mag ddrive, i advise tucson, but if ang mag ddrive ay 18-35 na guy i would suggest civic 2.0S.

^ Yup. The seats of the Civic FD is rock hard, but tolerable for me.
If you want, you could place leatherette seat covers to add cushion in the seats. That helps too in softening the seats.
Farthest I`ve been in an FD was just Quezon province. Of course there were several stopovers to pee, and to stretch as well.
Mostly, girls like soft seats, comfortable rides. The Civic FD might give you the power but cannot give the comfort like what others look for.
If you want, get an Altis. Superb seating comfort. :2thumbsup:
