Where did you get your data? It seems off...
From the corolla altis and city brochures (L x W x H):
Corolla:
4530 x 1705 x 1500
City:
4400 x 1690 x 1485
City is shorter by 5 inches,
narrower by half an inch,
less tall by half an inch.
And the interesting thing is that the City 1.3S MT is just 6Kg lighter than the Corolla Altis 1.6J MT

Height 1500 mm (59 in)

2006 Honda City
Length *4390 mm (172.9 in)
Width 1690 mm (66.5 in)
Height 1500 mm (59 in)
Wheelbase 2450 (96.5 in)
*4390 mm is the overall length for the 2006 City (aka City ZX) in other countries, perhaps Honda Phil rounded it off to 4400 mm.
The Corolla isn't really a large car, the reason for Corolla Altis' long 4530 mm (178.3 in) overall lenght is due to the extended nose and bumpers compared to the JDM version.
The JDM Corolla with an identical body but shorter nose and bumpers is only 4410 mm (173.6 in) long.Last edited by AG4; January 23rd, 2006 at 02:28 PM.

January 23rd, 2006 11:00 PM #25half an inch difference in width is negligible. sometimes visual calculation is inaccurate because you'll be deceive by the premise of the altis' longer body.

if priority were to be given to the guy's being a family man & better comfort during long trips, i will pick the altis anytime. other than that however, i'd go for the 1.5 cvt, with special consideration to better mileage, newer looks & technology, better interior flexibility

February 2nd, 2006 12:36 PM #30for reference check out www.hondaphil.com and www.toyota.com.ph
add ko lang... both car has high appraisal value pag binenta,
with regards sparts and service:
honda has 3 years warranty and 4th year engine warranty basta you have to use and maintain your car sa service center nila at gamit mo Honda lubricant, also after long years meron ka pa din parts nde nga lang kasing dami ng toyota, pero service center nila still accomodate cars kahit more than 10 years, tinatanggap pa nila and meron din siolang in-house transmission and engine rebuild pag nasira (honda kasi kami pa service ng sasakyan kita ko sa mga adds nila)
while toyota has 3 year warranty and lots of parts na binebenta sa tabi tabi you can buy orig - japan or replacement - taiwan parts at mas mura ng kaunti kesa sa honda (suggest not to buy replcement nde tumatagal), at napakadaming surplus parts available (specially sa Banawe, Cavite, Caloocan, Bulacan at Pangpangga - yung mga nasa provice alam nyo na kung saan galing surplus nila *baka galing sa nawla nyong toyota*) at napakdaming talyer, casa na pwedeng dalhan ng mga toyota cars.
before and after sales:
Ok sa Honda babait ng sales nila and even after buying the car they'll contact and remind you regarding the services, condition of the car, pati yung pakikitungo ng sales maayos. and whats important you can still approach sales and mechanics nila through text even after buying the car, willing to help and give advices on what to do with your car.
planning to keep it for 15yrs just done 10,000 km already replaced the transfer case fluid w/...
