The 1994-1995 Nissan Sentra 1.3L LEC-PS

The body is the same with the 1992-1994 Sentra ECCS but has a 1.3L engine and power steering and aircon. It should be within your budget range but be careful in choosing because some owners do not take good care of their "budget" cars.

with your budget and being your first car, get the mazda 323 1.3 sedan (gen 1). it's power steering and carb (since you're afraid of efi type), 16 valve engine that is really torquey and responsive. just don't get those used as taxis.
