January 2nd, 2012 03:47 PM #117km/L+?! ang tipid pala nun ah. What kind of driving is that? We have a 2010 Escape 2.3XLS A/T in Taiwan, which they say gets around 9km/L city but of course the city traffic condition there is close to US standards so that's not really very accurate.
Our 2.0XLT is very dreadful in the FC aspect, even worse than our Accord 2.4. It doesn't help that we are a fast driving family and the Escape will be flogged to run in the same manner as the Accord 2.4. But then, I must comment that it is really one good singer, the best among all the cars in our house. The sound from the engine is befitting of a sports car or a big bike.

Wouldn't know MT to AT, but the AT 2.3 is better than the 2nd Generation AT 2.4 CRV.
It's a four-speed automatic, but the engine has enough torque to push through the long first and second gear.
That said... for the same price, you can get more from a Lynx RS than an Escape... (RSs now hovering between 250-350k pesos), except the RS wasn't available with leather seats. It was a costly 40k dealer option.

Light foot on the acceleration and we have a habit of driving with momentum; pag driver, heavy foot sa acceleration, preno, accelerate, preno... With our 2.0 a/t before, it was averaging 6.0km/L++ in city driving and 10km/L on the highway. When i'm heavy on the accelerator and nasamahan ng Holy Week traffic going up to Baguio years ago, it went down to 8km/L+.

The 2.0 XLS M/T escape is raelly nice. the transmission is really good for its size. The FC is just better than the First Gen CR-V.

January 2nd, 2012 11:36 PM #17Ang Escape M/T nasa around 300+k to 400+k depending on the condition and year model. Isang maganda dun sa Escape is that you can change the headlights to the dual bulb multireflector type used in the gen 1.5 version for an even better look. As for the FC, it should be around 7-8km/L city. Ford parts are not hard to find, andami nun sa Banawe, and as long as you know where to look they're not necessarily expensive.

Parts for the Lynx are not expensive compared to cars available at the same time. Parts are obviously more expensive than older Japanese cars (the RS is an 03 model) but are around the same price as the Corolla Altis and ES Civic of that era. Heck... brake parts and suspension parts are much cheaper than for the Mazda3 and Civic FD.
