ang sakit naman, katumbas halos ng 7 CUVs sales from different car brands ang katumbas ng sales ng ecosport
This data is telling something, the market is not responding anymore to the overpriced CUVs
Maybe most dealers and management are forgetting the 20-80 principle. 20% of products gets the most sales. Wake up car brands, that's a disadvantage to you, imagine logistics for each car model - parts, technical expertise, marketing per model.
Ford seems to enjoy the 20-80 management principle on this segment. Kung 300 Lang sales for 5 months, that's less than a 100 per month, talo pa sa time and expenses
Analyze before you realize what's happening. Microsoft and Nokia have already conceded to the smarphone wars. Go for number 2 or 3 kagad, if not goodbye na sa sales forever. Listen to the 22 immutable laws of marketing

July 11th, 2015 07:36 PM #105and also a suggestion to car manufscturers, don't on rely fully loaded touchscreen gps navigation, entertainment system to increase the value of your cars
Most young people know now that when you buy something like that, it is not upgradable, and will be trapped with a product na Kapag Nasira eh will have a big repair bill
FYI. Samsung android phones have the latest software and gps navigation and entertainment apps, and they cost an average of 10k Lang, And can be upgraded every month or year.
Me, I skip those talking hus and gps as a basis for buying new cars. Imagine, if you have 3 different cars, then you have to learn 3 different systems that are proprietary but doesn't need to be coz the androids and iOSes are much more convenient as a travel companion

July 11th, 2015 07:40 PM #106it doesn't matter. Data says it all, it's a booming market segment that's waiting to be filled. Kung may problems ang ecosport, minor quirks na Lang yun, if we are to analyze the marketing potential of this kind of car
Everest is here, fortuner and montero sports are coming. And based from the data these SUVs are averaging 5k to 8k per 5 month period, lalo Lang mahirapan ang mga CUVs na yan.
And have you all seen the price of fuel lately, the difference between gasoline and diesel is more than P13 n, Dati P10 Lang.
Ibig sabihin fuel companies, know na malakas Ang demand ng mga wigos, vios, ecosport, bagsak ang fuel prices ngaun sa world market but the gasoline prices seem to be artificial modified here to meet the new demand, if you buy an bigger cuv, that is known to be a gas guzzler in bumper to bumper traffic, talong-talo ka talaga.

Read the FCP forums, as well as the Ecosport threads here, no prevalent DCT issues unlike with the early batches of Fiestas.

July 12th, 2015 12:56 AM #109I can only hope that the success of ford in that segment would prod others to jump in the band wagon. More options for us.

Everyone actually has a small CUV offering - Honda has the HRV, Mitsu has the ASX, Subaru has the XV, Nissan has the Juke, Toyota has the Rush. However, none of these (except possibly the Rush) can compete at the EcoSport's price point. I have a feeling that they don't want to either. The GP for CUVs is much higher than that of subcompacts, so each unit sold of an ASX is probably worth several EcoSports already.
Dealers don't make much out of these cars, but I'm sure the manufacturers/distributors do, and they wanna keep their CUVs as high margin products.
