This is true, i personally own FXT. Lots of fun for its size, but cant have it all so its also alot stiffer and bouncy

You can check online for the difference. If buying used and there is minimal difference between the base model and the top model, go for the top model.

Aside from the AVS (Active Variable Suspension) and Sport+ mode (makes the steering heavy) everything else is cosmetic (LFA-style gauge, black headliner, spindle grill).
    Speed wise no difference.

Edit: TFL drag race! (skip to 3:20 to go immediately to race start)

    Spoiler: the regular IS350 wins!

F sport is 8 speed. Standard is 6 speed.

The transmissions are 6-speed for AWD or 8-speed RWD. The difference is whether you get AWD vs RWD, not F vs non-F.

    Local standard IS350 non-F is also 8-speed.

Top Gear PH video confirming 8spd for local IS350 non-F

You can test drive any IS350 non-F I assure you it's going to be 8spd, or beer sent to you at my expense..

For a wifey's car, it is always good to drive something easy to park or wiggle in a tight space. For that budget, I would get my girl a jimny.

I think you should ask your wife which one she want
