Marketing strategy and all coupled with Filipino bias to anything American rave. No doubt their quality is getting there but still much to be desired.

Their pricing is also way off market.

I know 4X4, pick-up trucks and SUVs are ideal for such terrains. (btw, it's a paved uphill road naman) But it's not within my budget. Too, since I'm single and practicality wise, I don't see the need yet for a larger body type. I'm just contemplating on relatively cheaper compact SUVs like Ecosport or the mini SUV Honda BR-V or the mini MPV Honda Mobilio. But I'm also considering sedan/hatchback like Mazda 2 or Toyota Yaris.

(btw, we're talking A/T here, don't wanna go back to driving manual na )

For now, I'm close to getting an Ecosport after speaking with a Ford dealer and presented with an interesting promo deal.

Your thoughts will be of big help for me to decide wisely.haha Thank you.

If you need a peppy small crossover, only the Chevy Trax has the engine (1.4L turbo) to match the torque of the engines of the 2.0L NA engine of CUVs. If you need AWD and good ground clearance, you need to spend a bit and get the Subaru XV.

the newly launched suzuki vitara, looks promising...

Had a gen 1 before, and it reminds me of this current model.

Good size, good price and Japanese reliability... just my 2 cents

of course there will always be "risks" in any manufacturer. Choices are not much with limited budget ;-)

had my fair share of experience with Ford, Chevrolet and Suzuki with after service.

One thing I like with suzuki they actually use generic parts, and consumables... available in generic auto supply... not as proprietarian as Ford and Chevrolet

    again just my 2 cents
