May 22nd, 2014 05:47 PM #52Good day Sirs,
I was able to check some ads here and i saw some Honda Jazz on sale. http://tsikot.com/autos/honda/fit/ho...258-41363.html and http://tsikot.com/autos/honda/fit/ho...118-40754.html. Are the Honda Jazz fuel efficient? Thanks.

May 22nd, 2014 06:16 PM #53The Jazz is a fine car. It's fuel efficient, surprisingly spacious, and a pocket rocket with the 1.5L engine. Yun nga lang mababa.
The CRV gives poor gas mileage. A friend who drives a 2nd gen CRV A/T says he gets 5-6km/L on a regular basis. Perhaps it will be better if you get a manual variant, but not by a big margin. Also, don't expect it to perform well in flood wading or offroading. It's basically a Civic on stilts.
The first car I've ever driven is a 3 door Suzuki Escudo 1.6A/T. Off road and flood wading capabilities are very respectable indeed. Engine performance is so-so and FC is lower than most 1.6L's. Good car if you plan on going off road regularly, but otherwise stay away.

I can get around 8km/l on my 2006 2.0L A/T AWD Grand Vitara on mix provincial/city driving. If I will maintain speed between 80~90kph on the hi-way, it will have 10~11km/l on display.

May 23rd, 2014 10:31 PM #57I have personal experience with this vehicle. We used to have a 2003 Escape XLT A/T. At least the CRV has decent performance despite the poor gas mileage. This one has poor gas mileage AND poor performance. I've heard that the manual variant is much better though. Handling is good enough, and everything is very sturdily built. This is one of those CUVs that can actually handle some off road abuse. Flood fording capability is poor though, due to the low position of the air intake.
If you are hell bent on getting a CUV, make sure to get the manual variant, and perhaps throw in a few mods focused on increasing fuel efficiency.

June 6th, 2014 03:51 PM #59From the 3 options of 2nd hand SUV's with more than 2.0 displacement gasoline engines. I choose NONE of the above. Family man ka na, don't spend that much on gas. And maintenance of these previously prime cars are expensive.
