pag old school slushbox a/t, yes you should put to neutral

pag meron slushbox in front of the CVT, yes shift to neutral

pag DCT, no need. the clutches disengage when you step on the brake

pag meron clutch in front of the CVT, probably no need to neutral for the same reason as DCT

experts are welcome to correct me

DCTs and CVTs need not shift to Neutral at long traffic stops. However, that does not stop people from doing it out of habit. On my end, I don't want to step that long on the brake pedal and also, accidentally letting go of the brake pedal at a stop with Drive engaged might cause you to bump the car in front.

Well, in other countries... Kung traffic light lang, I keep it at "D"

Different story.

    My personal rule...
If I will use the handbrake... Linalagay ko muna sa "N"

This is when I really appreciate the brake hold function in the CR-V. During long stops I can rest my legs.

I finally found the right term... hehehe

Do not let the car "idle" on Drive...
So back to my personal rule, if I pull the handbrake, I put the car on "N"

P kasi yun parking pawl naka engage

^I agree...

2nd, older AT cars, di mo na kailangan ipress yung button to shift to N.
