my biggest fear it to be driving down to the province in a 2nd hand euro car when something goes wrong. for sure the nearest mechanic isn't adequately equipped or knowledgable with euro engines. have any of you guys experienced this? anong ginawa niyo? frankly this is what's stopping me from buying one altho i REALLY want one hehehe. thanks again

As long as you drive european cars. For sure, 50-50 ka na may masisira sa mga out of town trips...
Usual problems encountered by M-Benz, BMW, AUDI, VW, VOLVO owners:
1) alternator not charging
2) No aircon
3) overheat
4) Broken drive belts, timing belts
5) Palyado and dying engine
6) Unusual new noises on the highway
7) Burning smell somewhere
8) Fuel pump problems
9) Engine not starting

#1 just happened recently. I had my alternator replaced. Haay gastos.
#2 medyo nangyayari na. Mahina aircon hehe
#3 happened once only. But it was because of a leak sa hose going to the heater. Madali ko naman naayos.
#4 never pa naman. But I always have a spare belt sa trunk
#5 has been a problem until recently. Ang dami namin suspetsa (clogged fuel system, fuel pump relay etc) so naka-ilang balik din sa talyer. Finally, nung pinalitan yung high tension wires, for some reason ok na siya. Salamat sa Diyos.
#8 is related to my #5 problem
#9 is related to my #1 problem. Although napansin ko, every morning when I start the engine, normal cranking siya pero hirap ng kaunti mag-start, unlike before na one click lang.
Magastos talaga mag-maintain ng benz.Last edited by yomar; March 23rd, 2006 at 09:11 PM.
