December 10th, 2017 09:54 AM #161Remapping of the ecu increases power a lot. I can attest to that. But it also significantly decreases the component lifespan of the engine. There are trade offs. More power means More boost = more heat and more stress which the manufacturers didnt intend for those component parts.
This engine was meant to last hundreds of thousands of kilometers at the stock tune. As long as you know the compromises and are okay with the decreased longevity then its okay. I have chipped many cars and some have had engine light warning flashes on the dashboard after a few months.

Mostly the parts inside and around the engine that relates to power ... it's like giving a person an injection of adrenaline ... he may run faster and longer, jump higher, more strength ... but after the rush ... he will be feeling all sorts of pain in the joints, muscles, etc ...

December 10th, 2017 04:53 PM #167if pajero bk could speak, it would say: "why the heck would you inject me with adrenaline when i wasn't built for speed? i carry you to work safely, i carry your children to school safely, i carry you and your family to the mall or to the beach or to wherever you want me to bring them safely. why? do you want me to race with those prados, explorers, fortuners, etc. while you, your children, your family, your in-laws on-board in your kind of roads and in your kind of traffic? if you love speed, you bought the wrong car. try a chiron or a veyron or a pagani or a centenario."

December 10th, 2017 06:13 PM #169Thanks for the heads-up guys, will just stick to wheel/tire upgrade for now, hehe. Just felt excited with the 192hp the VGT brought to the 3.2 4M41 engine.
