^^^ In the case of the current model of the City,- yes I agree. Mahaba kasi ang front overhang nito...

Thanks sa mga replies. Isinama ko si wifey sa Toyota and Honda Dealer para personal nyang makita since sya naman ang gagamit most of the time. Well as expected mas nagustuhan nya yung City because of the looks (both interior and exterior) lalo na yung kulay na Habanero Red. Will just wait for the mirage bago finally mag decide but as the moment leaning towards the Honda City.

as for the gated shift lever of the Vios -

"What is the deal with all these new automatics with some sort of zig zag shift pattern that looks like some obstacle out of Ninja challenge?

The automatic shift gate you describe can trace it's roots back to Mercedes Benz of the late 60s.

It certainly does have a functional purpose - if you want to downshift one gear, say from D to 3, you can get one gear, without having to worry about overshooting on your straight line, hold-the-button shifter and hitting 2 gears down. If you want to upshift a gear or return to D, you don't have to worry about overshooting and hitting neutral. It's for simple, easy, manual control of gear selection, without relying on interlocks and buttons. Elegance in engineering function.

Once it became famous in Mercedes use, then it was a case of other manufacturers copying the design."

Mahirap ata ang 21kpl in normal city driving with the AC on. Mas maliit kasi makina at mas magaan.

Both fine riding car. I own a Vios, but I would recommend the City. Not fan of the busy 5 speed AT though, given that the car doesn't have much torque anyway.

I like the bigger trunk and rear seat. And the slightly more polished feeling once moving.
