I can give comments on my 2007 9-seater Starex GRX M/T , but not on 2007 Innova G AT Diesel or even Starex A/T:
Well...
On 22 April 2009, I go to Cagayaan Valley and go back to Manila on 23 April.
Malamig ang aircon, roomy at comfortable ang pasahero even long distance driving.

Took a GRX AT to Baguio.... did about 8.6 mixed highway/traffic driving... which isn't bad, considering we were going at a good clip on the highway (our AT Crosswind did similar economy... 8.6 mixed, 10 highway on our other Baguio trip).
Only problems I've heard of for the Starex is the AC and the rare AT failure. Other than that, it's not any worse than any other big van out there.
I think that the GRX is a bit too soft, though... over some wavy highway roads, you can develop some seasickness... but it is miles more comfortable than an Innova.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

The Starex will surely be more expensive, but I'm sure it will be way more comfortable and spacious. The Starex then gets my vote.
On a side note, I think the Hi-ace is more comparable to the Starex, as both are vans, whereas the Innova is an AUV.
