1.6 Civic VTi versus 1.6 Altis

16? Hardly. It's more like 13. It's faster than my previous Sentra Exalta, which took something like 14 seconds to get to 100 km/h.

From what I've observed, the Civic will go faster on highway speeds but the Altis will accelerate better in speeds below 100kph due to its lower rpm powerband.

Speaking of civics, I bought a 2000 A/T civic vti recently, has anyone overhauled their tranny before? How much did it cost & how long does it really take before the transmission (A/T in particular) needs overhauling?

Pareho lang naman halos yung 2. Parehong disposable sedans. Hehe. I own an altis. The only thing i like is its optitron gauges. hehe.

If you want a quite, comfortable ride, go for the altis.
If you want a more exciting and responsive ride, go for the civic.

I think they were talking about the ES Civic vs the 9th gen Corolla... So in that regard Altis ako, the ES Civic didn't do quite well but to be honest if I was getting a 2nd hand car I would get the ES CIvic since mura sya most Altis 2nd hand are over-priced. Pero yeah kung FD Civic vs Corolla 9.5 (no offense to 10th gen Corolla owners, I really think its a major face lift rather than a new car) then yes its the Civic (biased).
