hindi na eh.. year 2000 model na. the last box type was the 1996 S70. pero all the other "non-3-digit models" are not boxy anymore. gulat nga ako eh. pero it's not a fluke, kasi may nakita ako dito sa tsikot car finder, and another one in Manila Bulletin ads. 900k and 950k.
ganun pala kalakas ang depreciation ng Volvo.. same sa S40 vs E36. a 1998 S40 costs about the same as a 1996 E36. of course volvo yan.. hindi rear-wheel drive. and probably less reliable given na Ford siya. pero it's probably more reliable than Opel :P made in Sweden (or in the case of the Carisma-based S40, in the Netherlands) pa rin naman lahat ng Volvo.

ito yung galing dito sa tsikot car finder.
panalo talaga yung S80. crush na crush ko nga eh (hmm if only i had 900k! hahahaha!)
i mean true, 2.0L 5-cylinder engine is a far cry from the usual 5-series, pero 5-series competitor siya. saan ka makakahanap ng year-2000 na 5-series for that price. of course without the 5-series driving dynamics and i'm sure makupad yan (170hp for such a big body) pero still..

well mas mura talaga S80 compared sa 5-series. ang brand-new na S80 is about 2.8M right now. so ka-presyo niya yung mga high-end na 3-series.
plus mas malakas yung depreciation ng volvo compared sa bimmer (or worse, benz).
edit: mukhang hindi fluke. $19k (roughly 1M) ang 2003 volvo s80 2.9L with 29000 miles (i.e. 47000 km) mileage on ebaymotors. buy-it-now price na yun. and a 2000 s80 t6 (twin turbo) with 136000 km is $9.7k (about 600k pesos).
1999-2004 volvo s80. replaced the volvo 960. all built in Gothenburg, Sweden. the Swedish king uses one. entry-level model is a 2.5L light-pressure turbo (hindi pala 2.0L) with 210hp. and SRP is $36k.Last edited by orly_andico; June 1st, 2006 at 11:32 AM.

benz for me... dont like bmw because of the maintenance. kahit anong year pa yan e30 to present ang mamahal talaga... ang benz like 123's to 124's are cheaper to maintain. minsan makikita mo mas mura ang parts ng cats compare sa honda kasa.hehehe dapat alam mo lang price ng mga sa labas.
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
