I've had a Kia and a Yota, currently maintaining a Zuk so hindi na applicable sa akin yung 'con' regarding unknown reliability/dealer, etc.

I have nothing against Toyota nor do I have anything for the two other companies. But worst ownership experience award goes to the Yota. So people cannot just generalize that just because you get a Yota, life will be painless. And that Toyota is a 'known' entity, etc. Vehicle was not worth price premium. Dealer was so-so. Unit sold, got a used Mitsu, happy motoring again.

    - excessive brake dust
    - premature brake pad deterioration
    - uneven front disc brake rotor wear
    - premature shock absorber failure (left side, front & back)
    - erratic idling caused by a dirty intake throttle body (which caused the batteries to die)
    - tranny problem (which needed a pulldown to replace a ball bearing)
    - aircon failure (supposedly caused by a dirty air filter... weird)

to think kaka 3 years old pa lang nung vehicle. though all of those above (cept the brake pad and batter replacement) was covered by the warranty. then after the warranty expired eto naman ang problema:

    - shock absorber failure (front left again)
    - front suspension deterioration (ball joint, tie rod end, stab link)
    - leaking power steering
    - faint squeaking noise from the clutch
    - whining sound from the tranny when shifting to 1st gear
    - horn failure (caused by lousing wiring)

Even my officemate is suffering similar problems with his RAV4 (Gen 1), as well as his mom's ride (Gen 2).

It must be the name -- Toyota.

Sad to hear that you have problem w/ Toyota......I had a bad experience w/ other manufacturer but satisfied w/ Toyota. We had Suzuki carry van before...Mitsu Lancer, Nissan Sentra, 96 Civic vti.

    I'm a proud owner of 01 Altis 1.8G and Fortuner 2.7G!

plus the crappy interior build. You've got rattles everywhere in a gen2 RAV4.

The Grand Vitara is not something you see on every street corner kaya hindi talaga siya madaling maluluma sa mata ng tao.

Some people even think the Zuk XL7 is a newly released model because its so rare.
