Things I consider when appraising second hand cars:

    1. Apply the 10% per annum depreciation
    2. Check the selling price range of the model at olx (before) and fb marketplace
    3. Check for possible repair expenses, and lastly
    4. Cost to cover all fluid changes, spark plug, etc. regardless of their claims that it was newly changed.

All this will serve as my haggling price with the seller.

    for me... 10-15K

If I feel that the price is too high... hindi ko na titignan yung car in the first place.
Kung madami masyadong gagawin... hindi ko na tatawaran.

I agree. If masyado mataas, wag na kahit nakasulat negotiable. Sakin cguro tatawad ako 40K or 30K, tapos if pumayag edi ayos, pag hindi edi baka umabot sa 20K na tawad.

1.) i read here somewhere na parang 30% depreciation on the first year then 10% on the succeeding years? (i'm not quite clear on that). I'm eyeing for 5 year old cars po kasi.
2.) not yet checked actual units, still gathering tips and tricks on how to check 2nd hand cars here in forums. so far marami na po ako nakuhang infos
3.) since sa province po ako nagtitingin ng for sale na malapit sa area ko, i'm always checking current NCR selling price to compare on going rate for a certain model of cars. Others were above selling price in Manila (assuming they also bought it in NCR and selling it in the province)
4.) yes but as suggestion po nila dito, leave extra room for future repairs na gagawin? so as much as possible matawaran pa po sa asking price and target my budget on it.
5.) commonly posted po is price negotiable, bawal ang barat.

question ko lang po sir, if let's say everything checks out in terms of papers, mechanical/interior features and finally decided on buying it. ok lang ba na tawaran ng let say 30k for their asking price?
Of course! Hinde naman masama tumawad eh. Negotiation naman yan eh until ma reach ng both parties kung anong acceptable sa kanila.

magkano po usually pwede i-haggle sa mga bayan sellers na nagpopost po online na negotiable pa ang asking price nila?
    haggling is never la-os.
    turista lang ang hindi tumatawad.

    10 % is probably a nice figure.
but be sure you are in earnest. and inspect the merchandise first!
it is a waste of everyone's time, kung mag-tatawaran kayo, tapos hindi nyo pala kukunin pag pumayag na...

So do your own research din....

Kung sobrang mahal ang turing nila vs. market,- baka huwag mo na lang puntahan, unless convinced ka na worth checking it out iyon...

    da bayan seller!
    i agree. they are irritating.
some owner-sellers already put it up front: "bayan sellers not welcome."

    salamat sa mga inputs sirs

actually kakagaling ko lang din po sa isang prospect unit. first time ko nag check ng actual unit and tinest ko mga natutunan dito sa tsikot. hehe. bale di ko po muna tinawaran yung price, i asked lang muna asking price nya, and the details of the car (documents, history of the first owner) buti nalang honest si buy and seller dahil the unit is repo car, and nabanggit nya na may mga binaklas si first owner na accessories and napalitan. maybe thorough check nalang uli if kukunin ko talaga. but for the meantime hanap uli ng ibang prospect.
