Saang probinsya ka bro? Kumusta naman ang traffic conditions dun? The gas is fine, as long as OK ka sa higher fuel cost. Fortuner gas is known to get as low as 5km/L thereabouts in Metro Manila stop and go traffic.

Now kung ang ikinakatakutan mo sa Crosswind ay ang repairs lang, no worries naman dahil old school diesel at walang mamahaling electronics. Mura at madali hanapin ang piyesa at matibay ang makina. Kung makakahanap ka ng fresh at low mileage unit, you should be in for many years of painless ownership.

^ ow no .. 5km/l ?!

Haha~ forgot which Tsikoteer it was who shared that his Fortuner VVTi gets 5.2km/L on average. Gas mileage of gasoline powered cars can vary a lot between traffic conditions. Take our Accord 3.0V6, city driving gets aroumd 5km/L, while a Baguio trip got slightly over 10km/L (same figure gotten by our Revo diesel, which gets 7.5km/L city driving). Ah, the joys of driving in the province...

Our 2001 Revo diesel currently has 106tkms on the clock. Aside for the occasional calibration, no problem with the fuel system, or the whole engine for that matter. Yes, the injector nozzles have been replaced at 80+tkms, but being old school diesel, it only cost around 400 pesos apiece.

If the car's for your mom, and you don't mind getting gas, perhaps you might consider the Mitsubishi Fuzion? It's more spacious and comfortable than the Innova and less bulkier than the (also cramped) Fortuner.

Would you be willing to look for units in Metro Manila? You may find fresher and lower mileage cars here.
