    Correct!

The Pride is very reliable and parts are dead cheap. It can take you anywhere (ours has 200,000kms) with only top overhaul needed. The original shocks were replaced after 9 years of service. It's a little bit rougher on the edges if you compare it with a corolla xl pero bow ako sa kotse na ito. It just keeps on running with minimal maintenance.

btw the car is still averaging 10km/l city and 14km/l hway.

The kia pride is a world car btw, it was sold as the Ford Festiva (Japan,US, Europe and Mazda 121 (Europe, Australia and other Asian countries).

Isa pa... this car got one of the highest score sa NHTSA crash test for a sub-compact. Score was 5 or equivalent to only 10% chance of getting injured in an event of Front Impact.

    whew!!

Used car maintenance are drastic specially previous owner neglected or even abuse the car. Bring up in a good to very good condition is no guarantee of saving money, unless youre buying those midnight express car parts (as is or bolok) to expect savings. Buying OEM parts are expensive too, so no other way around of savings only labor if you know what to do.

i have identified 2 so far

    1) kia pride cd5
    2) toyota corolla xl

is this right? or are there other cars that can be a good contender?
    among your choices:

FC: pride (1.1 cc vs. 1.3 cc.)
    Parts: pride din.
Maintenance: even the corner talyers can fix a pride.

    Other alternatives?

    a Lancer singkit.
    a Nissan LEC.
a Mazda 323 square (boxtype look)
