June 30th, 2011 11:15 AM #38When I was hunting for a used car, my budget was also 180k - 200k. I was also looking for an EG hatch back then, but the price was too high considering its age. So I looked for other options like B14, AE101, Lynx, Pizza, and the ESi. If you really want the looks of the EG, I suggest get the ESi. Fuel injected, all power, and there are more stock EG sedans compared to hatches.
I found one and bought it (ESi) at 165k. All stock. 56k kms on the odo (This am not quite sure but it looks true naman, and the seller was a friend of my friend).
Maporma rin naman ung sedan, for me the extra space is a plus. Try browsing HCP (honda club phil) forums and you can see EG sedans that looks great.

August 13th, 2011 03:15 AM #39i might just be in the same shoe as the TS's dillema hohoho!
grabe nga talaga maka love at first sight yung EG at EK hatches lalo na kapag budget mo is around 160-200k. i love the EK hatch but i'm also torn between the GSR with invecs 2... salamat sa mga nabasa ko dito about sa b16. if it consumes like a 97 Vtec accord (8 highway, <5 city), i'll avoid that guzzler na rin!
so my question na lang din:
-ano at ano mas maganda sa b14 at ph12 ba yun? i have no idea which is better and which is more efficient. madalas ko kasi to makita sa ads ng mga civic hatches.
-i love the gsr and that civic, alin mas practical choice sa dalawa? which is better? and which is efficient?
primary reason ko rin why i'm after the ek/eg is that it's low and short (but i have no plans to make it more lower) and has at least some ample space for cargo at the back. convenient sa space like parking areas. personal use lang din. and with that asking price, it's a good personal car i think? kaso with old cars, consumptions matters na din altogether with parts replacement. kung parehas lang talaga sila ng tranny ng a/t na invecs 2, siguro di ako nahihirapan ng ganito.

A-Again. LOL
Anyways sa panahon ngayon, mas maganda if matipid sa FC yung auto, like yung mga 1.5, 1.3, i would suggest esi, matipid na sa gas and mganda hatak, torquey kasi siya, kahit non-vtec. problem lang sa eg-ek body is yung rust problems.. Check mo nalang mabuti. Goodluck on finding a unit sir!
